Johnny Depp has made a surprise appearance at the 2022 MTV VMAs.
There were loads of A-listers who attended the glitzy event in the United States, however the actor didn't appear in the flesh per se.
During the awards event, the camera panned up to the roof to show the iconic MTV Moonman dangling from above.

Depp's face was beamed onto a screen on the Moonman's face to make it seem like he was just chilling there above all the celebrities.
"I just want you guys to know that I'm available for birthdays, bar-mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes...anything old thing you need," he said as the crowd below screamed at the unexpected cameo.
Depp has been slowly making his way back into the limelight after winning his high-profile defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
A Virginia court sided with the Pirates of the Caribbean star and awarded him more than $10 million in damages, which Heard will have to pay.
However, the legal battle isn't fully over as Amber Heard has filed an official appeal against the jury decision.

The Aquaman star has recruited lawyers David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown to represent her as she tries to have the courts rescind their ruling in favour of her ex-husband.
Her freshly-minted lawyers are First Amendment legal experts, with the new attorneys confirming that the first clause of the US Bill of Rights will play a key role.
"We welcome the opportunity to represent Ms. Heard in this appeal as it is a case with important First Amendment implications for every American," Axelrod and Brown said in a joint statement, as per EW.
"We're confident the appellate court will apply the law properly without deference to popularity, reverse the judgment against Ms. Heard, and reaffirm the fundamental principles of Freedom of Speech."
Axelrod and Brown are specialists in the first amendment and have previously wielded their expertise as counsel for Sarah Palin when she successfully took on the New York Times in 2017 over a damaging editorial.
As that appeal case looms over Depp's head, it appears he's cracking on with his life and career.
The world got to see Depp for the first time in his upcoming role as Louis XV a French movie called Jeanne du Barry.
Mads Mikkelsen, who took the role of Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3 from Depp, also hinted that Johnny could return to the role now that his initial trial is over.
