Ana De Armas is set to star in the upcoming John Wick spin-off, titled Ballerina.

ComicBook.com reports Lionsgate used their presentation at CinemaCon to reveal new details about the neo-noir thriller franchise.

Fans are already buzzing, expressing that the Knives Out and No Time To Die star was the perfect choice for the lead role.

One Twitter user wrote: “SCREAMING CRYING SHAKING.”

While another commented: “YESSSSSS. Her scene in Bond kicking ALLLLLL the a** in heels and a dress shoes she’s more than capable for Wick level action choreography.”

And another said: “I will be devouring this.”

Ballerina will follow a young female assassin who seeks revenge on those who killed her family, according to Variety.

Underworld director Len Wiseman will be directing the action-thriller, and John Wick director Chad Stahelski will be producing the film with Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee.

Stahleski revealed in 2020 to The Hollywood Reporter that having Wiseman serve as the film’s director would provide the John Wick universe with a ‘fresh’ perspective and a different vision for the upcoming flick.

He said: "Having him [Len Wiseman] on board and approaching some of the action design from a slightly different perspective, meaning the set pieces, the character involvement, how and what he wants to do during the action sequences, makes it kind of fresh.”

The John Wick director also assured that he would be actively involved in the spin-off’s development

"So, we're not just copying ourselves over and over again with gun-fu or something like that. And because the character is different, we're going to get a different take on things," he said.

"But as far as the level, the competence or the style of action? Yes. I plan to be there to assist whenever I can. And our 87eleven stunt team will be very actively involved in helping Len in all his action needs."

He added: “I already think he's a really good director, and I think he gets the tone. I think he understands action, and I think he's got a good visual style. And right off the bat, I was like, 'Oh, we've got to get this guy. He gets it.'"

Ballerina’s release date is still unknown; however, John Wick: Chapter 4 is set for a theatrical release on May 7, 2022.
