The first trailer has dropped for a spin-off show following on from the story of The Office and it answers a big question from the original series 12 years on.
The TV series, called The Paper, is set to follow a declining midwestern newspaper set to be revitalised after the hire of a hopeful new Editor-in-chief.
Starring Domhnall Gleeson sporting an American accent in the show it sees a predominantly new cast of characters, with just one exception.
The spin-off show will see the return of Oscar Martinez from the original show, the slightly uptight accountant who we last saw preparing to run for Senate.
The finale episode of The Office gives us a rough idea of what happened to the characters next as it picked things up a year after the 'end' of filming of the in-show documentary.
The Office shows a number of the characters living drastically different lives with Dwight and Angela getting married, Kevin running a bar, and Andy going viral for bursting into tears at an Acapella talent show.
Many however will be left wondering whether Oscar, a fan favourite of the show for many due to his dry sense of humour, succeeded in his run for the Senate.
When we pick things up with the character however, it is unfortunately not as a politician.
In the first trailer for The Paper however Oscar is not only looking slightly more dishevelled than many would be used to seeing him but is also refusing to be filmed after his experience of cameras following him at Dunder-Mifflin.
Upon seeing the cameras which followed him round for years at Dunder-Mifflin, Oscar says: "Not again, I did not agree to any of this."
He then proceeds to tell them he will make the footage unusable, loudly exclaiming "f*ck" in a failed attempt to prevent the footage going out.
The trailer also had a couple of familiar faces even for British comedy fans (Peacock) For fans of The Office who wondered if anything ever came of Oscar’s burgeoning political career, the trailer finally offers an answer after 12 years.
Though these same fans may be excited to get another show to fill the void left by The Office in the hearts of fans, people on social media are not yet convinced.
Many are not convinced by the show's first trailer, with some saying they reckon it won't make it anywhere near the nine seasons that the original US spin-off managed.
One fan tweeted: "This screams canceled after one season."
Another tweeted: "This isn’t gonna last more then 2 seasons."
Over on Reddit however, fans were a bit more hopeful. In the comments underneath the trailer posted to r/DunderMifflin, one comment read: "Oscar!! Cautiously optimistic that this won't suck...
"I'm hoping since they're "reporters" that they'll take a page from Parks and Rec and interact with the outside world/crazy townies more."
Another comment on Reddit said: "Seeing Oscar just made me irrationally giddy."
