Hayden Christensen Wants To Do A Spin-Off Series Exploring Darth Vader’s Rise To Power

Hayden Christensen Wants To Do A Spin-Off Series Exploring Darth Vader’s Rise To Power

The 41-year-old actor told ET Online he'd 'absolutely' be interested in starring in a spin-off series following the iconic Sith Lord.

Following the recent release of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen confirmed he’s keen to star in a spin-off show starring Darth Vader.

While speaking with ET Online, the Star Wars actor was asked if he’d ever be interested to be a part of his own series following the iconic villain, to which he responded: “Absolutely, I think this is a character that resonates in our culture in a very profound way, and there’s certainly more there to explore."

He added: “There are so many other stories that have been told in these other mediums, and I would love to get to continue my journey with him.”

Christensen reprised his role of the Sith Lord in the franchise’s latest series that follows the legendary Jedi master Obi-Wan as he hides on the planet Tatooine.

While on the desert planet with Anakin’s son Luke, Obi-Wan is called on a mission to rescue Anakin's daughter, Leia, after she is kidnapped by the Galactic Empire's Jedi-hunting Inquisitors, who are conspiring to take down the Jedi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi’s leading star Ewan McGregor also spoke with Forbes in February and teased his onscreen reunion with Christensen.

"I think it's no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and it was just fantastic to work with him again," he said.

McGregor also said he believed fans would be extremely 'satisfied' with the end result.

He said: “I always felt there was a story between Episode III where I finished playing Obi-Wan in the movies and Episode IV where Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi

“The [Obi-Wan Kenobi series] writers and [director Deborah Chow] and I and everyone, I think we crafted or they crafted a very fine storyline. I think people are going to like it."

Shortly after the show’s first two episodes dropped last week, fans took to Twitter to give the spin-off series glowing reviews.

One person wrote: “My official review of The Obi-Wan Kenobi series Part 1 and 2 is 10/10.

“This is what the sequel trilogy should have been. It was what stars always has been and always should be!”

Another commented: “Ok my review of the first two episodes of #ObiWanKenobi is that they were a very good time and I'm very excited for the rest of them!”

While a third person said: “The first two episodes of OBI-WAN KENOBI are everything I wanted them to be.”
