My Chemical Romance has dropped their first piece of music in nearly a decade and fans are absolutely floored.

The iconic emo rock band has released 'The Foundations of Decay' on streaming services around the world.

It's the first time they have issued a new song since their 2014 track 'Fake Your Death' that was on their May Death Never Stop You greatest hits album.

Safe to say, fans are simply delighted they are finally hearing new material from the band, which consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way.

One person wrote: "Today, humanity had two amazing firsts. We saw the Milky Ways black hole for the first time !!! and My Chemical Romance released its first song in eight years !!! One of these firsts will change the way we understand our place in the universe. The other is a black hole."

Another added: "My Chemical Romance dropping new music in 2022 might actually save this decade."

A third said: "I cannot believe that My Chemical Romance just dropped a song out of nowhere. Absolutely no build up to the release at all and it’s still sending every fan into a frenzy."
