Lewis Capaldi says Jenna Ortega can 'f***ing handle a wing' as he starts crying in pain on Hot Ones

The heat had him in tears as he battled through the pain

Lewis Capaldi has said Jenna Ortega can ‘f**king handle a wing’ as he starts crying in pain on YouTube series Hot Ones.

Capaldi, 26, features in the latest Hot Ones video from First We Feast, a series that sees celebrities interviews while tackling chicken wings doused in increasingly spicy hot sauces.

While some think they’ll fare pretty well at first, it soon becomes clear that they’re powerless to the heat – as we learnt from a sobbing Jennifer Lawrence, who even admitted she ‘violently’ vomited after she munched her way up the Scoville scale during her appearance.

‘Halfway through the wings’, Capaldi found himself struggling slightly as he took on Mako Snake hot sauce by The Spicy Shark, which comes with a Scoville level of 7,100.

“Okay, here we go,” he said as he chowed down.

“That’s got a little bit of a ting.”

As the heat starts to kick in, he continued: “Oh yeah. That’s hitting a little bit. That’s getting a little bit nippy. Maybe I’ll slow down on this wing.

“That’s good. We can handle that. I’m getting so scared, because I know what’s coming.”

When asked about what he learns as an artist when his expectations for a record are exceeded, Capaldi couldn’t answer at first, as he admitted: “I’m getting there, I’m salivating and crying slightly now... You asked me a question, you motherf***ker!

“Okay, it’s hot now! F**k you!”

He added: “F**king Jenna Ortega, she can f**king handle a wing.”

Capaldi was, of course, referencing Wednesday star Jenna Ortega’s efforts earlier this year, as she simply did not flinch as she nibbled away on the spicy wings.

The ‘How I’m Feeling Now’ singer, meanwhile, didn’t fare quite as well.

At one point, he even asked if he was crying.

He eventually managed to compose himself enough to answer the question, saying: “You just learn that you don’t know anything, because it’s like, no one has the answer. It just shows you that you don’t know what a hit is.

“Any time I put a song out thinking, ‘This is gonna be a smash’, it’s been a f**king complete abject f**king failure. So yeah, you know nothing. And labels know nothing, no one knows anything!”

Capaldi then stopped himself, asking: “Am I visibly crying?”

Host Sean Evans diplomatically replied: "Yeah, but it looks cinematic and kind of beautiful, actually!"
