Margot Robbie accidentally turned up to audition high after misunderstanding medication orders

Margot Robbie has revealed she once went along to an audition high as a kite after misunderstanding some instructions on when to take painkillers.

The 32-year-old Aussie says despite being a highly accomplished actor with a couple of Oscar nominations to her name, she still finds auditions ‘really scary’ - and after sharing a story about accidentally rocking up to one while off her head on prescription painkillers, I think I can see why.

The Wolf Of Wall Street star said that she underwent painful root canal surgery the day before an audition for a role she ‘really wanted’.

Despite the pain, Robbie decided she’d just take her painkillers and go along anyway. What could possibly go wrong, right? Well, quite a bit thanks to a simple misunderstanding.

Robbie explained to the Sun: “I was at my friend’s house and he’d just had root canal treatment.

“I was like, ‘I’m in so much pain but I’ve got this audition tomorrow’. And he was like, ‘Oh well, I’ve got painkillers from the root canal. Take them when you wake up before your audition and you’ll be fine’.

"And I was like, ‘OK, thank you so much’.

“And he said, ‘Here, take two’. And when he said, ‘Take two’ I thought he meant to take two as the dosage, but he really meant to take two just in case I needed another one later.

“Anyway, I woke up and I was getting ready for this audition, didn’t get time to eat breakfast so, on an empty stomach, I had two. I’m driving and halfway there I was suddenly like, ‘Oh my God, what a lovely day it is!’

“I’ve got one hand out the window. I was off my head. It was a terrible audition, I’m sure!”

Yeah, it doesn't sound great.

Robbie says she remembers ‘curling up on a couch’ and if that wasn’t quite bad enough - straight after the audition, she was supposed to have a driving test to get her American licence.

However, Robbie knew she absolutely should not get behind the wheel of a car in the state she was in.

She went on: “Fortunately my friend worked at Sony, which is where I was doing the audition, and I ran to her office and was like, ‘Can you give me food or something? I think I’m high. I’m not sure but I think I’m high, help me’. It was hilarious.”
