Marvel Fans Embarrassed After Only Just Realising Who Elizabeth Olsen Is Related To

Elizabeth Olsen is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s key stars, portraying Wanda Maximoff aka The Scarlet Witch in the Avengers films and her own spinoff show WandaVision. 

The actor first appeared as the character in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s end credits all the way back in 2014, which is why a number of Marvel fans have been left feeling embarrassed after only just realising who she’s related to. 

The clue is in the name, folks. 

Yes, the 33-year-old star is actually the younger sister to 00s icons Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Remember them? The twins who started off their glittering career in Two of a Kind and Full House before going on to star in dozens of family films such as New York Minute, Passport to Paris and When in Rome.

Despite featuring regularly in fashion magazines and tabloid pages, the pair, now 35, have lived discreet lifestyles in recent years, including their relation to baby sis Elizabeth. 

But now the cat’s out of the bag, the Marvel fandom have taken to Twitter to admit they’ve only just realised the three are sisters.

“Just found out elizabeth olsen is sisters with mary kate and ashley??” wrote one, while another said, “How did I never realize that Elizabeth Olsen is Mary Kate and Ashley’s little sister omg.”

A third admitted: "I was today years old when I found out Elizabeth Olsen’s sisters are Mary-Kate and Ashley. 

“I don’t live in a box. Just never connected the dots lol.”

A fourth added (yes, all in caps): “I JUST FOUND OUT ELIZABETH OLSEN IS MARY KATE AND ASHLEY OLSENS’ SISTER???????????”

As well as this apparently shock revelation, some were just as surprised to find out that there are more siblings, including their older brother Trent Olsen, half-sister Courtney Taylor Olsen and half-brother Jake Olsen.

“WHY did i just put together today that Elizabeth Olsen is related to Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen and that there are 6!!!! Olsen siblings,” said another fan. 

And then there were those who already knew they were related, with this person writing: “My brother just found out elizabeth olsen is related to mary-kate and ashley olsen he's going through it.”

Whether you knew about the Olsen siblings or not, it certainly adds up when you think about - they even look alike.
