I'm A Celeb fans are only just realising where joke Ant and Dec keep making came from

Ant and Dec's joke has a hilarious origin

People are only just figuring out why Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly keep saying this one line while hosting the infamous jungle show.

For those who have been clued into the latest I’m A Celeb series, there’s one thing people keep talking about…and it’s not the Bushtucker Trials.

Ant and Dec are the hosts of the ultimate Aussie survival show, which has seen many celebrities come and go as they attempt to become the King or Queen of The Jungle.

This year’s lineup includes Oti Mabuse, GK Barry, Dean McCullough, Danny Jones, Maura Higgins, Barry McGuigan, Rev Richard Coles, Jane Moore (who was evicted out), Tulisa, Alan Halsall, Melvin Odoom, and Coleen Rooney.

The celebs have been put through the ringer lately, particularly Dean, who Ant and Dec begged the British public to stop voting for when it comes to the trials, as they were worried they were not getting the opportunity to meet the rest of the camp.

There was also a few moments which sparked rumours that Ant wasn’t too pleased with Dean, who failed most of his tasks.

However, what’s really overtaken the show right now is that fans have realised why Ant and Dec keep saying the line: “He can’t see man, can he?”

For those who are unaware, the duo hosts have been in the limelight for quite some time together.

They began their rise to fame through a popular TV show, before branching out and releasing hit songs such as ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rumble’.

So, when they’ve been laughing at someone being unable to see, it’s really a nod to their early start.

Specifically, their time on Byker Grove.

Byker Grove was as TV show aired on the BBC from 1989 to 2006, and focused on the lives of youngsters who attended the youth club of the same name.

Both Ant and Dec played respective characters who were school students.

While Ant played Peter ‘PJ’ Jenkins, and Dec took on the role of Duncan Sperring.

It was here that the infamous lines were spoken by Dec after a paintballing fight incident caused PJ to go blind.

In the scene, PJ is lying on the ground in pain as yellow pain covers his eyes.

When an adult comes to check on the swarm of kids surrounding him, Dec’s Duncan shouts out ‘He can’t see, man’.

Clearly, Ant and Dec are poking fun at a memorable moment, and are referencing it for I’m A Celeb viewers who might be of the age to remember watching the series as children or teens.

A lot of people in the UK will remember the show, which also saw celebs such as Charlie Hunnam playing Jason, Eastender’s Jill Halfpenny, who played Nicola, and ITV’s Andrew Hayden-Smith, who took on the role of Ben.

There’s been a lot of moments from the show which a people will remember, but the ‘he can’t see, man’, has got to be the funniest.
