Prosecco drinkers in for huge shock at Glastonbury after seeing price of bottle at festival

Thousands have already descended upon Worthy Farm as this year's infamous Glastonbury festival gets underway - and of course, it's not taken long for festival goers to complain about the price of bevs at the event.

The famous Somerset event will soon be packed with over 200,000 people as the first set of musicians are set to take to the stage on Friday (28 June).

But as we all know, people don't just go there for the tunes, as more than 300 food and drink vendors are offering some top grub to pair with the Glasto experience.

After all, you'll need all the energy you can get to make it to the fifth night.

Unofficially handy information website Glastopedia has all of the information you need on dietary requirements and which cuisines are available.

Taking to X, they said: "Wish you could search through food vendors in the new Glasto app?

"Yeah, me too. So I added them all here — filter by location, cuisine, recommendations, and more!

“Major thanks to Whitelighted from the OOF Discord too, for sourcing dietary info, menus, and so much more."

Despite the wonderful range on offer, people are not best pleased with the price of booze.

For a pilsner on tap, you're looking at £6.75, a 25p increase on last year.

While a bottle of wine costs around £30 this time around.

Sadly though, Prosecco fans will be stunned to learn that a bottle will set you back a whopping £43.50.

Even non-drinkers will have to cough up £3 for a half pint of their favourite soft drink.

Commenting on the prices on X, one user said: "£2.50 for a can of water is criminal."

"Drink prices at events these days are ridiculous," another added.

"They’ve basically doubled in about four years."
