People left seriously divided after seeing ‘bold choice’ of food served at the Golden Globes

It comes after the 'airplane meal' served at the Critics Choice Awards last week

People have been left seriously divided by the food served at this year's Golden Globes.

As the celebrities tuck into a bit of a fancy plate-up at the awards show in Beverly Hills, California, tonight (11 January), some social media users reckon it was a bit of a 'bold choice'.

It comes after last week's dinner at the Critics Choice Awards was slammed as looking like 'airplane food' as people joked that it was 'giving Fyre Fest'.

But rather than what seemed to be a snack plate with the likes of crackers, hummus and slices of cheese, the guests tonight are dining on Nobu.

Shared on X, the Golden Globes scran features the likes of a caviar cup, lobster salad and the infamous Nobu Miso Black Cod.

Reacting to the image posted by New York Times' Kyle Buchanan, one wrote: "Bold choice as the only menu option for 1500 people. I hope the ones not into raw fish brought a sandwich."

"Looks yummy but this would not fill me up," another said.

As a third commented: "This is all they let you eat FOR HOURS? like the red carpet is still happening, it’s a very long ceremony, not even some breadsticks so you don’t spend hours just watching and clapping?"

Plenty joked that the awards dinner posts were the most 'important' of the evening as some wondered if the stars 'actually eat their food' during the ceremony.

"I would be p**sed off if this was served to me on an airplane," one slammed.

Buchanan later followed up with another image of canapes and small bites as he explained: "There’s an alcove next to the ballroom with even more sushi and snacks for Golden Globe attendees who want a little extra."

The menu features luxury Japanese cuisine from the legendary Chef Nobu Matsuhisa of the Nobu restaurants.

As the images show, it consists of: Yellowtail Jalapeno, Caviar Cup, Lobster Salad with Spicy Lemon Dressing, Tai Matsuhisa Nigiri Brushed with Nikiri Soy, Salmon Nigiri Brushed with Nikiri Soy, Tuna Nigiri Brushed with Nikiri Soy and Miso Black Cod.

Getting a much harsher reception than this Golden Globes menu, the food at the Critics Choice Awards went viral as users called it 'embarrassing' and joked they would go as the 'Critics Choice Awards snack plate for Halloween'.

Abbott Elementary's Janelle James even made fun of it as she said during her acceptance speech: "The best thing about being nominated four times is I finally realized they’re never going to feed us at this thing. It’s going to be just grapes and ice cream every year, but this makes up for it!”
