Former MySpace president Tom Anderson has shared a never seen before DM from Mac Miller just days before he died.

Now, if MySpace was before your time, Anderson was kind of a big deal back in the early ages of social media, having co-founded the platform alongside Chris DeWolfe in 2003.

It was pretty much the first big social networking website and it reached its peak in the mid- 2000s, before being eclipsed by Facebook in the late 2000s, of course.

Anderson sold MySpace in 2005 and went on to pursue photography and personal stuff.

And while it feels like we don't hear from him much, he recently took to X to share a DM exchange between himself and the late rapper.

"I never shared this anyone before… @MacMiller asked me to be in a video to be filmed Sep 7, the day he died," Anderson wrote.

"Remembering Mac @MacMillerMemoir who passed today in 2018."

Sharing a screenshot of the exchange, it showed Miller reaching out to him days before his death, writing: "We are shooting a video on September 5-8 and if you made a cameo it would be amazing."

"Haha - What's the concept?" the MySpace co-founder replied.

To which, Miller responded: "I'm just teleporting to a bunch of different locations and different

people are in each one."

Aged just 26, Miller was found dead in his home in LA on 7 September, 2018 from an accidental drug overdose.

The toxicology report revealed a mix of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol in his system.

The US rapper gained fame in 2011 with his debut album Blue Slide Park.

At that time, he became the first independent artist to have an album debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in over a decade.

Miller went on to work with the biggest names in the music business, but became even more well known due to his high-profile relationship with Ariana Grande.

The pair collaborated on hit song 'The Way' in 2013, started dating in 2016, before calling it quits two years later.

Sadly, Miller struggled with substance abuse and Grande, after his passing, said she tried her best to support his sobriety.

“I respect and adore him endlessly, and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times, regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!” she wrote on Instagram.

“Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it’s not you.

“We talked about this, so many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to.

"The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. Rest.”
