The Amy Bradley disappearance has seen yet another potential major breakthrough after her brother revealed that a Curaçao police officer had made a ‘verified’ sighting 18 years on.
Amy Bradley disappeared 27 years ago from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship while on holiday with her family, who have not given up hope that they can find her alive and well.
There have been numerous unconfirmed sightings of her since 1998 when she vanished, along with many conspiracy theories, though her family believe she was trafficked off the boat and onto Curaçao.
Amy’s brother, Brad Bradley, spoke in a new interview where he addressed a recent ‘verified’ sighting of her.
This comes after Amy’s family claimed that the recent Netflix documentary, Amy Bradley is Missing, had led to numerous new leads coming forward in the investigation into her disappearance.
Amy Bradley disappeared without a trace in 1998 while on board a Royal Caribbean cruise (SWNS) Amongst these was a horrifying lead in which one man claimed to have purchased her for sex.
When discussing this newer lead, however, Brad believes it could eventually lead to them solving the case regarding her disappearance.
He stated that Herman Goilo, a former Curaçao police officer, claimed to have spotted her as recently as 2016.
Speaking about Goilo’s claim that he had spotted Amy, Brad said the family had hired private investigators to speak to the former police officer in November 2024.
Brad added: “They are still talking to him… He's told verifiable truths with verifiable lies mixed in. Hopefully something will come from it.
Brad Bradley spoke out the major breakthrough regarding his sister's disappearance in a new interview (SWNS) "I'd like to feel positive about it, but we've been told a bunch of crap by a bunch of people."
He went on to say: “We do think she's still alive… my parents and I have always shared this gut feeling that she's still alive. And I know that to a lot of people, they can't relate to that feeling, but we're not going to stop feeling that way unless we're given a reason to."
The family’s decision to hire a private investigator marks a major step for Amy’s parents and brother after having been scammed by one previously.
Frank Jones, a self-professed former US Navy Seal, scammed the family out of $210,860 after claiming to be actively watching her travelling around Curaçao.
The Netflix doc brought about new leads (Netflix) His lie fell apart partway through what Amy’s family thought was an ongoing mission to extract her, in which Jones told them to wait by the phone to hear from her.
One of his men overheard this exchange and called Amy’s family and informed them that it had all been a ruse and they’d been being paid to watch an empty home.
Her father Ron said of the incident: |If there’s a chance — I mean, what else do you do? If it was your child, what would you do? So I guess we took a chance. And I guess we lost."
Amy Bradley is Missing can be streamed on Netflix now.
