Shia LaBeouf gives honest update on alcohol use months after Mardi Gras incident

Actor Shia LaBeouf has reportedly admitted that he is still struggling with his alcohol use.
Despite insisting that he does not 'have a drinking problem' earlier this year, it has been claimed that the Transformers star stated he consumes it on a daily basis.
The 40-year-old was supposed to undergo rehabilitation for alcohol abuse following his Mardi Gras arrest in February, however, he has reportedly now said that he still 'drinks daily'.

LaBeouf was taken into custody earlier this year after he was embroiled in a fracas in New Orleans while the annual celebration that marks the start of Lent was underway.
He pleaded guilty to three misdemeanour battery charges in June after a physical altercation with three men.
The actor - known for his roles in the likes of Even Stevens, Holes, Fury and The Peanut Butter Falcon - was subsequently sentenced to two years of probation.
As well as this, LaBeouf was ordered to undergo rehabilitation for alcohol abuse, sensitivity training and anger management classes.
But court documents obtained by TMZ in regards to LaBeouf's legal trouble in New Orleans suggest that the film star is still struggling with alcohol.
He has been checking in with his probation supervisor in the months that have followed his arrest as instructed, according to the publication.
TMZ also reports that the Los Angeles-born actor has also provided proof that he will complete anger management and substance abuse treatment by next month.
However, the outlet claims that court documents also state that LaBeouf declined mental health treatment and 'self-reported that he drinks alcohol daily'.

The next hearing in regards to the case in New Orleans is scheduled to take place on 23 September, however, it seems that LaBeouf won't be there.
It has been reported that a note is included with the documents which states that he will be busy shooting a film.

LaBeouf previously addressed his actions at Mardi Gras in an interview with Channel 5's Andrew Callaghan, which was released in March this year.
During the chat, he stated that he had been sober for a period nine months before he began drinking again, confessing that he was 'not on the wagon at all'.
"I know there are people that depended on me and people that look to me to be some kind of sobriety, stability, and some pillar of this s**t, but I'm just a man," he said. "I'm trying to find it."
LaBeouf also admitted that his behaviour in New Orleans was 'f**ked up', saying: "It was no good, bro. My behavior’s dirty, ugly, disgusting, so I gotta eat it, you know?"
He then suggested he didn't fear being penalised by the law, as he said: 'Who gives a f**k' about prospective jail time? It’s another experience. Jail [will] be another adventure. What are you gonna do."
In reference to the Mardi Gras incident, LaBeouf also added: "I am wrong for touching anyone ever and that’s the end of my statement on this whole s**t."
The actor then went on to claim that he did not have issues with alcohol, saying he did not have a drinking problem but instead a 'small man complex'.
"I don’t think I have a drinking problem. I think I have a different problem, and I’m gonna address it … I think I have a small man complex," he said.
"Some kind of Napoleonic, I don’t know what it is. I think it’s something that has to do with anger and ego more than my drinking."
