Brits warned Netflix could be about to stop working on your TV next month

Some TVs are going to lose Netflix very soon... sorry about that

If you've got a certain type of TV and subscribe to Netflix, then you are a mere month away from being horribly out of luck.

That's because a whole load of TVs are very soon no longer going to be able to support the app.

It means that one day your gogglebox is going to go from being able to stream all the Netflix stuff you want to no longer doing so.

Your alternatives are going to have to be plugging another device into your TV which allows you to stream Netflix or watching on another device like your phone or computer.

Alternatively you might just have to accept that your way of accessing Netflix is now gone.

This is going to happen to 42 specific models of TV on a specific date, so 24 July is going to be the day when Netflix stops working for some Brits.

There's about 17 million people subscribed to the streaming platform across the UK, so some of them are going to have these TVs and might wake up next month to the despair of realising that endlessly rewatching The Office is now off the table.

It's bad news for people who bought a Sony TV, as the company announced that due to technical limitations the Netflix app would no longer be supported on some of their products.

They said: "Netflix announced that on July 24, 2024, the Netflix app will no longer be supported on some 2014 Sony BRAVIATM LCD TVs due to technical limitations.

"You can continue to use the Netflix app on your TV until July 23, 2024. After this date, it will be removed from the Apps menu on all affected models."

This announcement follows the news earlier in the year that the Netflix app would also not be supported on some previous TV models from between 2011 and 2013.

If you bought your TV from the Sony BRAVIA range in 2014 then you are in line for a loss of Netflix.

There's a total of 42 TV models which are going to lose Netflix on 24 July, and are as follows:
