Aaron Rodgers called out over ‘odd’ comments about ‘secret’ wife amid Shailene Woodley claims
Aaron Rodgers has been called out after he made a comment about his wife, leaving an ESPN NFL analyst to issue her thoughts on the controversy.
Mina Kimes has called what Rodgers said about his wife Brittani, who he married back in June 2025. The American football player has been largely private about who she is other than her first name.
Kimes brought up his mention of his 'pregnant wife' on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports radio show last week, which comes right off the back of a former teammate of Rodgers' defending him over recent controversial comments he made about his ex.
Now, if all of this is gibberish and you don't know what it means – essentially, the NFL player recently spoke about his ex-fiancée, Emmy award winning actress Shailene Woodley, and claimed she had asked to sleep with another man before they could marry.

She has since decided not to say anything and instead laughed it off.
Rodgers told the Not Just Football podcast that when he'd proposed to Woodley, she said 'before we get married I gotta go **** this guy' days later.
Months went past and apparently she 'took off the ring' and their engagement fell to pieces, with him claiming that she told him 'I don't want to be with you'.
Anyway, back to the incident at hand.
Mina Kimes revealed that it was 'odd' how he talked about his wife, in response to when the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback said of his retirement plans: "I'm hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we're going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements/ And I'm looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college, and getting my body healed up and working on a family.
"That's what I'm looking forward to."
Kimes said on The Sports Gossip Show on 8 September: "That was my reaction. You know the Bart Simpson [quote], 'What an odd thing to say'."
She added: "It was just a strange way of putting it, as opposed to, 'I want to start a family'."
In the past, Woodley revealed to Outside magazine that her relationship with Rodgers was 'not right', but had also been 'beautiful, as well as the 'lowest low of [her] life'.
She told the mag: "I haven't shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry. It was not right. But it was beautiful."
"I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy," she said. "I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment. I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing."
Back in 2021, Woodley appeared on Jimmy Fallon's talk show where she said she and Rodgers have been engaged for 'a while', but hadn't announced it.
She went on to say of him: "He’s, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being. But I never thought I’d be engaged with somebody who threw balls for a living."
