A spin-off series to The Gentlemen doesn't seem to be far off thanks to first look images.

Set to be released in 2024, Netflix has released some new snaps from Guy Ritchie's new show.

Sharing the same title as the 2019 film starring Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant, the series is created, co-written and executive produced by Ritchie.

And his long-term collaborator Vinnie Jones will also be featuring because let's face it, it wouldn't be a Ritchie project without the former footballer.

The upcoming show has a totally different cast to the movie, but expands on the bizarre weed crime world.

Netflix shared new snaps from The Gentlemen, with hard man Jones enjoying a sip from a teacup while he towers over it.

Theo James (the bloke who got his kit off in White Lotus) stars as the lead and is also joined by Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Chanel Cresswell, Michael Vu, Max Beesley, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Dar Salim, Pearce Quigley, Ruby Sear and Peter Serafinowicz.

Speaking about his new series, Ritchie said: “The world of The Gentlemen is a little bit of me. I’m thrilled that with Netflix, Miramax and Moonage we have this opportunity to inhabit it once again.

"We’re looking forward to bringing fans back into that world, introducing new characters and their stories and I am excited to be doing it with this extremely talented cast."

It's not yet clear who Jones will be playing in The Gentlemen, but previous reports speculate the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels actor will play the groundsmen - sounds pretty mysterious.

Tudum by Netflix said of the new series: "We meet Eddie Horniman as he inherits his father’s sizeable estate… only to discover it’s part of a weed empire.

"Moreover, a host of unsavoury elements of Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of the operation. Determined to extricate his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game. However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it."

Fans are buzzing with these first-look snaps as they comment on Netflix's Facebook post to say: "Loved the movie.. I'm gonna watch this!"

And another put: "Amazing film, high hopes for this."

Others also echoed: "I have never been so excited."

In case you missed Ritchie's fan favourite original film, here's the synopsis: "The Gentlemen follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London.

"When word gets out that he's looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him."

It grossed a mega $115 million (£89m) at the worldwide box office but received mixed reviews from critics.

All eight episodes of The Gentlemen are set to premiere on Netflix in 2024.
