Viewers are still fuming over Netflix's decision to not renew one of their favourite series four years ago.

People can become easily attached to shows after just one season.

But when the studio decides not to renew, all hell breaks loose.

In this instance, fans are still upset with Netflix for a decision it made back in 2020.

The series in question is I Am Not Okay With This, which is based up on the graphic novel of the same name by Charles Forsman.

The black comedy is centred on 17-year-old Sydney Novak (played by Sophia Lillis) dealing with all the usual ups and downs of high school alongside some newly found mysterious superpowers.

Cast members also include Wyatt Oleff, Sofia Bryant, Richard Ellis, Kathleen Rose Perkins and Aidan Wojtak-Hissong.

Although I Am Not Okay With This was renewed for a second season, Netflix cancelled it in August 2020.

At the time, the streaming service revealed it was cancelling two popular shows, saying: "We've made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This.

"We're disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by Covid, and we are grateful to these creators, including: Jonathan Entwistle, Christy Hall, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry at 21 Laps Entertainment for I Am Not Okay With This; Chris Keyser, Marc Webb and Pavlina Hatoupis for The Society; and all the writers, casts and crews who worked tirelessly to make these shows for our members around the world."

At the time fans were not happy, as one viewer tweeted: "No! I Am Not Okay With This ended with a cliff hanger. Now you're telling me it's cancelled?! What the..."

Another added: "Both series were amazing and I really wanted to see how both would come around in the second series. Why cancel due to Covid? Just hold off filming until they can start again."

While a third said: "No like I'm really upset that The Society and I Am Not Okay With This got cancelled. Like I'm convinced Netflix does this on purpose."

Fans are still mourning the cancellation of season two.

One fan even set up a petition to try and urge Netflix to save I Am Not Okay With This but it was not successful.

Fast forward to 2024, fans are still upset.

One recently took to Reddit to air their frustrations, writing: "After three years, it still bothers me that this show got cancelled after one season. It had such an interesting story, it could of been a really good few seasons. But no, it got cancelled, after a big a** cliff hanger as well.

"Why do you do this Netflix. Why?"

Another commented: "It was an amazing show, and I still want a season 2!!!"

While a third added: "I love that show, I don’t understand why cancelling it. I mean, it’s so unfair, leaving us on that cliff hanger. In season 2 everything would be explained, like syd’s powers."

And someone else joked: "I guess you’re not ok with it."
