Viewers have cheekily called Netflix ‘wicked’ for phone recordings they played in a ‘wild’ true crime documentary which has been dominating the platform.

The recordings are played in the number one film on the entire platform right now, a true crime documentary which focuses on a female prison guard who engaged in a romance with a prisoner, and broke him out on the day she was supposed to retire.

Check out the trailer here for the documentary that’s taken Netflix by storm this week.

The doc in question is called Jailbreak: Love on the Run.

It follows the story of Vicky White, an Alabama correctional officer who fell in love with a prisoner.

White fell in love with Casey White (don’t worry, they aren’t related, it’s just a coincidence), a convicted murderer, and broke him out of jail.

The documentary was added just last week, but has since rocketed to the top of Netflix’s charts, beating out This Time Next Year.

One particular aspect of the documentary that viewers are shocked at being included is phone recordings between the two of them of an intimate nature.

One viewer tweeted: “Nahhh Netflix playing those recordings of them having phone sex was wicked af."

Another said: “Me the entire time listening to theses phone calls between Casey & Vicky," with a gif of someone in absolute shock.

The documentary plays calls the pair exchanged in which they discuss lingerie, sex toys, and specific intimate acts.

This included moaning each other’s names, various unseemly banana-based comments, and hoping that the pair could have ‘real sex’ one day.

Matt Burbank, Vicky’s boss and the Director of Corrections, confirmed that the pair did have sex in the prison.

The phone calls played are a selection of over 1,000 calls made between the pair.

The decision to include them has seen a host of reactions, ranging from shocked to disgusted – but few positive.

One comment on a Reddit thread discussing the show said: “Watching now and what a mess! These phone calls are so embarrassing…right under their noses."

Another viewer replied saying: “I was surprised about how personal those calls were that they released. I don't wanna hear them having phone sex lol."

One comment said: “The phone sex calls are beyond CRINGE lol.”

Despite viewers cringing at the phone calls included, the documentary has a tragic ending.

Vicky White ended up killing herself when the pair were caught, with Casey being arrested.

He is serving a life sentence for a litany of violent crimes.
