A woman was forced to hire a private investigator after her date made an unusual request.
The bizarre incident is featured in the new Netflix series Love Con Revenge, as former romance fraud victim Cecilie Fjellhøy teams up with private investigator Brianne Joseph to help other victims.
Cecilie was once a target of 'Tinder Swindler' Shimon Hayut, an Israeli conman who posed as Simon Leviev, claiming to be the son of a wealthy diamond magnate, Lev Leviev, also known as the ‘King of Diamonds’.

Leviev's story was brought into the spotlight after Netflix released the 2022 documentary The Tinder Swindler, which exposed his elaborate romance scams.
Now, the streaming platform's new series Love Con Revenge is a six-parter that includes the case of Chris Lloyd, who allegedly scammed a woman he was dating, named Lindsay, out of $140,000 (£121,635).
In an exclusive clip shared with the Daily Mail, PI Brianne Joseph claims that 'Chris lied about being a major league baseball player'.
"But the way he got money from Lindsay was through investments," the investigator further explained.

Lindsay said that alarm bells started to go off when Chris tried to get her to make a big financial investment.
"He knew tons about banking, money, credit, loans, just all sorts of financial knowledge," she said. "He made me feel safe in the investment."
In the clip, Joseph checks to see if he was 'listed in the FINRA regulatory agency search' - and he was not.

The private investigator said that Chris had allegedly told Lindsay that he 'had investment opportunities for her through Planet 13', which she says is 'one of the biggest weed dispensaries in the US'.

"But he told Lindsay her check would be sent from Landmark Associates, so that's who we need to look into," she added.
She attempted to contact Landmark Associates, but no one was available to take her call.
The PI then came across some purported evidence of a previous case online, adding: "'A civil lawsuit filed by a female plaintiff against both Chris Lloyd and the Landmark Associates. The allegation? Fraud."
Ahead of the show's release, Fjellhøy told Tudum that she never thought what happened to her would stick with people the way it has.

"Since The Tinder Swindler, I’ve heard from people all over the world who’ve been targeted by criminals hiding behind love. Love Con Revenge is a way for me to use what I’ve learned to help others heal, reclaim their voices, their power, and their lives," she continued.
According to the series' creative director, James O’Reilly, Love Con Revenge shows 'the jaw-dropping scale of romance fraud — and the emotional and financial toll it takes on victims'.
Love Con Revenge is set to drop on Netflix on 5 September.
