If you grew up in the '90s, chances are you can recite at least one line from the iconic film The Little Rascals.

From the chaotic the He-Man Woman Haters Club to Alfalfa's outrageous love letter to Darla (Dear Darla, I hate your stinking guts...) to Alfalfa and Spanky's tragic ballet performance, the 1994 film is jam-packed with childhood memories.

The film's young cast may have become childhood icons, but many of them have since traded Hollywood for quieter lives.

That includes Brittany Ashton Holmes, who played the sugary sweet but equally sassy Darla.

More than 30 years after the film first hit cinemas, here's what we know about the child star who quietly walked away from Hollywood.

Holmes was just five years old when she landed the role of Darla, acting opposite nine-year-old Bug Hall, who played Alfalfa in the film.

After a decent box office debut, young Holmes went on to act in a handful of other projects, including an episode of Ellen Degeneres' sitcom Ellen in 1995, and the TV films Humanoids from the Deep (1996), Death Benefit (1996) and Circuit Breaker (1996)

Shortly after these projects wrapped, the child star stepped away from the spotlight.

Apart from one random appearance in the 2014 TV movie We Hate Paul Revere, Holmes was never seen on screen again.

Holmes, who would now be 37 years old, has not spoken much about her time as a child star and has removed herself from the public eye almost entirely, with no social media accounts to be found.

According to Vulture, there was one point in time when Holmes reportedly had a MySpace profile, on which she had written: "I was an actress when I was little, and did this movie called Little Rascals. It’s like really embarrassing to watch, and I don’t want to act any more."

However, in the 'Who I'd Like to Meet' section of her profile, she suggested she'd love to reconnect with her co-star, writing: I’d love to meet up with Bug again."

That dream would come true in 2014, when the cast of The Little Rascals were reunited for the film's 20th anniversary.

Although she was reportedly reluctant to get involved at first, Holmes was visibly thrilled to see her old co-stars again on the day.

In footage taken from the reunion by 22 Vision, she told cameras: "Everyone still has that core Rascal inside of them."

Reflecting on one of her most iconic scenes, when she performs a jazzy cover of the tune 'L-O-V-E' Alfalfa's competitor Waldo, Holmes said: "I liked wearing that red sparkly dress. That whole movie was a dream."

So, while Holmes seems to have found new love for her part in the iconic film, she's still quite happy leaving Hollywood behind and keep her life out of the spotlight.
