Netflix viewers have been left raving after watching a new post-apocalyptic thriller.
In a world where The Last of Us is releasing episodes weekly and 28 Years Later is just around the corner, it can be hard for anything about what happens after an apocalyptic event to stand out.
Netflix appear to have managed it, however, with a new show that released this week.

The show in question focuses on a group of survivors forced to face an alien force after a deadly snowstorm kills millions.
This unique plot has managed to differentiate it from more generic post-apocalyptic shows, and it has been met with a massively popular response by critics and fans alike.
The series, called The Eternaut, is an Argentinian show, starring Ricardo Darin and Carla Peterson.
Based on a popular comic book, the show has been met with a score of 7.7 on IMDb and 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Carly Lane of Collider heaped praise on the show, saying in their review: “The Eternaut, Netflix's adaptation of the bestselling graphic novel, is a chilling slow-burn sci-fi with no shortage of twists.”
Mike Hale of the New York Times said of the series: “[Creator, Bruno Stagnaro] has taken a story about a small band of people with a few simple personality quirks each and added layer upon layer of melodramatic detail and mystery.”
Fans of the show will be delighted to hear that Netflix's Latin American boss Francisco ‘Paco’ Ramos confirmed today (2 May) that season two is on the way, which will be the final season.
He told Deadline: "Season 2 is going to be very important. It’s going to dig into a lot of sci-fi concepts that were just pointed out in Season 1, and they are going to be fully blown.”
Producer Matías Mosteirin added: “We believe that we will manage to close the whole story in a beautiful way, with probably eight more episodes."

Meanwhile, star of the show Ricardo Darin told Vogue Spain: "This starts one way and ends another. We have to get there.
"People are wondering, the fans, what that great final battle on River Plate's pitch will be like. We'll see if I make it, even if it's in a wheelchair, but we'll get there.”
Thankfully it appears that, despite complaints about marketing for the series, The Eternaut is hitting a wider audience.
One comment on Reddit said: “Crazy how bad Netflix’s advertising is and their algorithm should know I would dig this, yet they preview for reality dating shows on my home screen and it’s not like anyone watches on my profile. Will be watching this.”

Despite these claims, the show has debuted at number four in the UK and is number three worldwide.
The Eternaut is available to watch on Netflix now.
