The final season of Stranger Things has released its first trailer and fans are already worried about the fate of the show’s main characters.
The show, which stars Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, and Winona Ryder, will conclude after almost a decade with the final story of Hawkins.
Stranger Things' last season ended on a massive cliffhanger when the demonic Upside Down was shown to have invaded the real world fully, leading to a climactic showdown between Eleven and the villainous Vecna.

The first trailer, two and a half minutes long, came as a shock to fans due to it being a full four months away from the Netflix show releasing.
Whilst many fan theories have concerned who will and won't die in the TV show's final season - the first trailer for season five has seemed to all but confirm the death of one of the show's major characters.

For eagle-eyed viewers watching the trailer the lack of Steve throughout will be a major concern.
The fan favourite character, played by Joe Keery, has been a heavily theorised death for the upcoming final season.

One scene in particular however seems to directly hint to this.
Nancy, played by Natalia Dyer, is shown at one point in the trailer furiously trying to wash blood off her hands - something that may be as a direct result of Steve's death.
This theory is backed up by some of the major scenes shown in the trailer seemingly being without the iconic Steve.
Fans took to social media to back up the concerns around this, with one saying: "Steve and Dustin hugging, damn, I feel like this is when he's gonna die, I'm gutted.
Another said: "Stranger Things opening the teaser trailer with steve harrington…if anything happens to my guy i stg."

A third was a tad more direct, simply replying to Netflix saying: "If you kill steve i kill you.:"

The teaser comes ahead of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
The series is arguably Netflix’s most successful franchise to date, with season one being one of the most watched series ever on the streamer.
Netflix is releasing the final season in three parts, with episodes releasing on November 26, Christmas Day, and then the final episode will come out on New Year’s Eve.

The show will be releasing more than nine years on from the release of the first season with the cast of kids now all into their 20s and still playing young kids.
Millie Bobby Brown, returning as Eleven, is now 21, and Caleb McLaughlin is the oldest of the main kids at 23, he will be 24 when the final season comes out.

The cast have addressed how they will deal with the slightly bizarre age differences however, with the show’s co-creator addressing it.
Ross Duffer said in an interview with TV line that he was ‘sure’ they would do a time jump for season five of the show.

He went on to add: “Ideally, we’d have shot [Seasons 4 and 5] back to back, but there was just no feasible way to do that.
“So these are all discussions we’re going to have with our writers when we start the room up.”
