Nick Cannon Apologises For 'Pain And Confusion' After Announcing Eighth Child Following Loss Of Son

He said he ‘probably misspoke’ and could have dealt better with such ‘delicate and sensitive’ discussions

Nick Cannon has apologised for the ‘pain and confusion’ he may have caused after announcing that he is expecting his eighth child, saying he had gone into ‘too much detail’ while speaking about the news in the wake of his son’s death.

Cannon has twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, along with a four-year-old named Golden Sagon and one-year-old called Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell.

He has also fathered seven-month-old twins, Zion and Zillion, with Abby De La Rosa.

But the TV host was devastated late last year when Zen, the five-month-old son he shared with Alyssa Scott, died from a brain tumour.

Now Cannon has announced that he’s got another baby on the way with model Bre Tiesi, having held a gender reveal party.

However, he has since apologised for his actions, saying he ‘probably misspoke’ and could have dealt better with such ‘delicate and sensitive’ discussions - and that it may have felt like he was making comparisons between his late son Zen and the child he is expecting.

In a YouTube video, Cannon said: “I actually would like to take a moment just to be honest and even take a moment to listen and reflect on what I was saying and what's popping and apologise properly.

“I’d like to address some of the comments I made on Monday’s show. I wish to always protect and respect the privacy of the mothers of all my children and, you know me, I just really want to be sincere and whether that's someone who's new or someone who's had my child and I have such a great relationship and great admiration for everyone in my life.

“I believe I probably - no, I failed - to do so on Monday because it was a lot going on. I didn't know how to explain it, I didn't know what to say, so I was probably talking too fast and probably misspoke and I know I could do better when dealing with delicate and sensitive discussions.

“So I promise you, I promise the mothers of my children, I promise my family that I would do better, continue to be more understanding, caring, compassionate like they often show me, each and every day through these processes.”

He continued: “I misspoke and probably went too much into detail on Monday expressing my feelings, and it felt like I was probably making some comparatives or probably discussing when talking about the passing of my son Zen and then also talking about the new child that I am expecting.

“I didn't have to do that - I didn't need to do that 'cause those are two completely separate moments in my life and in life and they both deserve the respect that they are. Grieving is a process, and I'm still grieving, each and every single day, and myself and Alyssa, our family we still deal with that. And I know it seems awkward because people try and do the timing and none of that matters.

“You know, we lost a child. And it was a sincere and still is a sincere situation. And I love her, I love my son Zen, and I always will. And I'm going to love my new child, and I'm going to love every child from that point on. I'm a responsible human being, I take full responsibility for everything so I must say I sincerely apologise to everyone involved for any extra pain or confusion that I may have caused.”

Cannon has also recently revealed that he has been on a 'celibacy journey' after revealing he is having his eighth child.

On an episode of The Nick Cannon Show earlier this week, he admitted that his life was 'out of control' and he needed to reign in his behaviour.

"My therapist was one of the [people] who said that I should probably be celibate because I had shared that news, that Bre was pregnant," the Wild 'n Out star explained.

People have been questioning when exactly he started this no-sex journey because he admitted back in October that he was going to lay low for a while.

During an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast he said he has 'enough children, enough frolicking'.

He said: "I'm good right now... I'm trying. I didn't say I'm perfect. I love all my kids."
