Shocking police photos have captured the moment Nick Reiner was arrested following the tragic deaths of his parents Rob and Michele.

Rob Reiner, best known for directing iconic Hollywood hits The Princess Bride and Spinal Tap, was found dead alongside his wife Michele in their California home on Sunday 14 December.

The legendary director, who also had acting roles in The Wolf of Wall Street and Sleepless in Seattle, was confirmed to have passed away when a family spokesperson shared the heartbreaking news online.

In a statement to the media, the spokesperson said: "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner.

"We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

On Monday 15 December, the LAPD Gang and Narcotics Unit shared some now-deleted photos which captured the moment he was arrested, as he was detained at a Metro station just 15 miles from his parents house.

You can see some the photos below.

While no arrests were made in the immediate aftermath, the couple's 32-year-old son Nick has now been arrested, with a statement from the LAPD suggesting that he may be 'responsible for their deaths' and remains in custody 'with no bail'.

Other sources have suggested that Nick had reportedly been in an intense argument with his parents during Conan O'Brien's Christmas party the night before, with the subject seemingly focused on Nick's refusal to return to rehab, having struggled with addiction and homelessness since he was just a teenager.

According to the LA Times, Rob and his son had attended the festive bash hosted by O'Brien on Saturday, 13 December, and had been seen arguing with each other at the event. It's also reported that Nick was seen acting 'strangely' at the party.

Nick's struggles were addressed in the film Being Charlie, which he made alongside his father back in 2015.

It's now been confirmed that he's been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Nick Reiner, who has a history of mental health struggles and has been placed on suicide watch by police, is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.

LADbible Group has approached a representative of Nick Reiner and the LAPD for comment.
