Noel Gallagher Never Buys Reduced Food When He Goes Shopping

Noel Gallagher Never Buys Reduced Food When He Goes Shopping

'I put reduced stuff back, I leave it for the needy'

Noel Gallagher would never lower himself to a supermarket's reduced section - he leaves that for the 'needy'.

The former Oasis star, who's had a successful solo career in addition to forming Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, is worth an estimated £70 million.

In an interview with BBC News in 2017, he even said: "I don’t know anybody who’s as rich as me… apart from my wife, of course."

It's hard to imagine why Gallagher would go out of his way to peruse the reduced section of his local supermarket. Nevertheless, he's now confirmed he'd never go for the yellow-label stock.

During an appearance on Matt Morgan's Funny How? podcast, Gallagher explained how he doesn't make too many considerations when he's doing his weekly shop in Waitrose. "I just fill up the f***ing thing," he said.

"I would never buy a bit of out-of-date fish because it was reduced. I put reduced stuff back, I leave it for the needy."

Apparently, fans are still surprised when they see him at the shop. He said: "I still get asked on a daily basis, in the supermarket, ‘What are you doing in here?’

"People think that famous people have butlers and all the women are like Joan Collins and all the rock stars are like Mick Jagger, it’s not like that.

"I still queue up to get in Tesco Metro. I have just a normal life, but an extraordinary job. I wouldn’t have anybody doing shopping for me.

"If my room needs hoovering, I’ll hoover it - I don’t like relying on too many other people for anything."

In the same interview, Gallagher said he'd get involved if World War III made its way to the UK. "If there was an invasion here you'd have to get involved," he said.

"I haven't got any long-range weapons at my disposal but I could probably get a gun. I'd get out to Hampshire and I know a few people out there with shotguns and sub-machine guns.

"I would get out to Hampshire, I would access to the roof and before that I would order a load of telescopic stuff from Amazon, camouflage gear, a flask, some warm weather long johns and sit on the roof and listen to the radio and shoot anything that f***ing moved."

The musician also took a jab at his brother, Liam Gallagher, saying: "Usually when he is wearing a big coat it’s because he’s got a big thing to hide underneath - a bit of a belly."
