Noel Gallagher has responded after his brother Liam claimed an Oasis reunion ‘is happening’.
The announced they were going their separate ways back in 2009, after the rowing brothers decided they could no longer work together and ended up getting into a fist fight at Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
Since then the pair have traded insults and jibes in the press and on social media, but fans have long pined for the band to get back together.

While this previously looked like a complete non-starter, last week Liam was asked on Twitter if there was a ‘small percentage’ that the band could reform, to which he replied: “It’s happening.”
You can imagine the excitement from all the 90s indie kids, right? And now Liam’s older brother Noel has added more fuel to the fire in a recent interview.
Speaking to France Inter Noel was asked if he was aware of the demand for the band to reunite, and responded: “No one has really come along to take our place.”
He then made a nod to the rumours kick-started by his brother, adding: “There’s something in the papers back in England today.”

Noel continued: “He should get his people to call my people; they know who they are, they know where we are.
"Stop talking on the f***ing internet, and let’s see what you’ve got to say.”
The musician was then asked if it would really just be a mere matter of Liam making a call.
“You would think, right?” he said. “You would think. He’s got my number, he’s got my manager’s number, call us.
"But you know what? He won’t call.”

When pressed on why he thought this might be, he said: “Well why indeed. Why indeed.”
Noel has previously stated he is open to the idea of a reunion, but stressed that it would take something ‘extraordinary’ to bring it about.
He told BBC Radio Manchester earlier this year: “You should never say never. It would have to take an extraordinary set of circumstances.
“That’s not to say that those circumstances would never come about.”

While Liam similarly has left the door open for a reunion, saying in 2022: "See, I don't mind getting asked that, 'cause it's natural.
"You know what I mean? I like talking about Oasis 'cause it's the best band in the world."
When pushed on if that was likely to happen any time soon, he said: "What, getting back together? Not this week, but I mean, I'm ready to go.
"My bags are packed, maybe the week after."
