The first contestant to be announced in this year’s edition of Love Island, Paige Thorne has been a popular member of villa life from the offset.
Hailing from Swansea, Wales, Thorne claimed she joined the show as she hadn’t been able to find love in Swansea and was keen to ‘break out and broaden her horizons’. Thorne is a full-time paramedic and has vowed to return to her job at the end of the show’s run, remarking on her passion for her job. Before quitting on a temporary basis for the TV series, she only gave her bosses three weeks' notice, Wales Online reports.
Her stint on Love Island began in the very first episode of season 8 and she has been coupled up with Luca Bish. Since starting the show, Thorne has rapidly amassed over 60,000 followers on Instagram.
