People are going absolutely wild over movie trailer with ‘bonkers’ twist

At first it looks like just another Jennifer Lopez rom-com, but it really seems to take a turn for the awesome.

At first look, Shotgun Wedding seems like just another Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy.

But trust us: this film is way more than you bargained for... in the best way possible.

While the singer turned actress has dominated the genre for years, this is the first time we’ve seen Lopez fashion an elegant wedding dress while holding a rifle in hand.

It looks like the audience is in for quite the ride.

As Prime Video’s Shotgun Wedding's trailer opens, we see Darcy (played by J-Lo) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) prepare for the luxurious getaway wedding in the Dominican Republic.

But despite the exotic destination and gorgeous couple, the wedding begins to unravel as tensions rise between overbearing in-laws.

Throw in an ex (played by Lenny Kravitz) showing up to the nuptials, and you’ve got a full-scale wedlock disaster.

If only J-Lo could hire her character in The Wedding Planner to put out her bridal fires.

However, the ceremony enters a danger zone when guests are taken hostage and family members are forced to work together to save their loved ones, provided they don’t kill each other in the process.

Since the trailer dropped, fans have been going wild for the upcoming blockbuster, as one person wrote via Twitter: “Somehow, this trailer gets better and better the longer it goes.”

Another said: “Omg can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.”

A third person commented: “I say with ZERO exaggeration that I am counting the days for this.”

While another shared: “Inject this into my veins.”

However, not only does Jennifer star in the film, but the 53-year-old also serves as a producer working alongside director Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect and Sisters), who we feel has struck gold once again.

Josh Duhamel previously sat down with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, revealing that the action-adventure film was ‘one of the best experiences’ he’s had in the film industry.

The 49-year-old heartthrob also gushed about his friendship with Lopez, labelling the singer-songwriter ‘fantastic’ to work with.

He said: "I've known her for years, and it sort of came to my attention that the job became available, and I got a chance to meet with her."

The actor continued: "It was like rekindling an old friendship with an old friend.”

He added: "J-Lo is, like, a ... she is a boss. In the best way.”

Shotgun Wedding is set to be released by Prime Video on January 27, 2023.
