If Weapons had you double-checking the locks before bed, you’ll be thrilled to know its director, Zach Cregger, is bringing his take on the legendary world of Resident Evil to the big screen.

The film follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier whose night takes a terrifying turn when he finds himself caught up in a frantic fight for survival. As chaos unfolds around him, Bryan is forced to figure out how to make it out alive.

And you could catch it before everyone else. We’re giving away double passes to exclusive preview screenings of Resident Evil across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth on Wednesday, September 16 — one night before Resident Evil lands in cinemas on September 17.

To enter, just tell us your first rule for surviving a horror film in 25 words or less.

Keep it clever, keep it memorable and you could take the win.

For anyone familiar with Resident Evil, there’s plenty to recognise in the name alone. The franchise has become a major part of horror culture since the original games arrived, but Cregger is taking the opportunity to put his own spin on that world.

After Barbarian and Weapons, the filmmaker has already made a name for himself with horror that keeps audiences guessing, and Resident Evil gives him a much bigger world to play with. The result is a film that leans into suspense and atmosphere while still delivering the kind of action you'd expect from a story built around a fight for survival.

It also makes this a pretty easy one to jump into, whether you've spent years with the games or have never picked up a controller in your life.

Fancy seeing what Zach Cregger has in store? Enter now for your chance to catch Resident Evil at an exclusive preview screening, or see it in cinemas from September 17.
