The latest bunch of documents the US government has on UFOs has been released and one of them details a strange encounter where a mysterious black triangle flew over the skies of the western US earlier this year.
Part of the released records say that this object resembled a 'delta wing drone' and was spotted by individuals with 'extensive operational experience working alongside government agencies'.
They described it as 'an unidentified craft presenting as a matte black triangular shape', which had a wingspan of somewhere between nine and 15 feet, and a length of somewhere between six and nine feet, while only being about one or two feet thick.
Looking at it through a 'handheld thermal device' showed it was 'hotter than ambient temperature' but didn't have a visible exhaust trail.

Those who saw this strange triangular object said it 'climbed to an altitude of an estimated 200 to 300 feet above the local ridge line' and hovered there for a short while before it 'transitioned from a zero-velocity state directly into high speed horizontal flight', flying off in a matter of three seconds.

The observers said that it appeared to be 'as fast as a fighter jet', and that 'under banking angle the craft's silhouette appeared to flatten and present as a more triangle'.
The witnesses said this craft had 'no detectable acoustic signature throughout the entire engagement', meaning it didn't make a sound despite the speed at which it was moving.
Those who saw it said that even something like a drone would have been heard by them, with the object appearing to be about 1.4 miles away from their position.
So when it comes to the truth about this thing the answer is we don't actually know.
There isn't photographic evidence of this thing, the artwork you can see is a computer generated insertion into the view the witnesses had of the skyline.

This is the seventh wave of documents released by the US government concerning potential UFO sightings, and the next release is due to come in time.
Previous releases have included videos of various unidentified flying objects 'swarming in all directions', again this one over the western US.
They've also released footage of other strange objects recorded in the sky, and have provided pictures of these unexplained phenomena unlike in this more recent case where they've computer generated the UFO in order to illustrate the descriptions from those who claimed they saw the black triangle.
Is the truth out there? We don't know.
