Wrexham fans convinced Ryan Reynolds time travelled after 'spotting him' in 1878 team photo

He may have starred as a superhero, but Wrexham fans are convinced Ryan Reynolds has super powers after seeing him in the archival photo.

Given what Ryan Reynolds has done for Wrexham FC, it’s understandable that many fans think he has superpowers.

However, some supporters are convinced that the A-list actor is capable of time travel after he was seen in a squad photo from 1878 - yes, you read that right.

Sadly, the Deadpool funny hasn’t commented on the image yet, but Reynold’s fans have been hilariously reacting to the image on social media.

Originally uploaded to the Welsh side’s Twitter account, the photo shows the Wrexham FC team after winning the cup final over the Druids.

Whilst the image is nowhere near HD quality, a familiar face can be seen in the left-hand corner of the image – which was taken over a century ago.

Despite several of the men sporting more traditional hairstyles and huge handlebar moustaches, the unknown man even has the Deadpool actor’s signature style.

Reynolds has been spotted in an archival image from the 1800s.

It gets even weirder considering that Reynolds doesn’t have any Welsh ancestry – as his family is descended from Scotland and Ireland instead. (The more you know, eh?)

The parallels continue, with the A-Lister recently playing a time-traveller in Netflix’s The Adam Project – which was the same month the photo was shared on social media.

Understandably, it captured the imagination of Wrexham’s fans – with many commenting on the Victorian man’s uncanny resemblance to the Canadian football club owner.

The photo has delighted fans of the Welsh side.

Commenting on the post, one fan excitedly called Reynolds ‘the ultimate time traveller’ with another adding that it was the actor’s ‘previous life’.

A third wrote: “Omg previous life of RR.. also looks like Damien Lewis.”

The celeb spotting continued, with some even joking that they’d spotted other comic book actors in the archival photo, writing: “Dude, is that Tom Holland behind you? With Ben Affleck to the right of him? Woah.”

Another teased the A-Lister, referencing his long-running rivalry and bromance with Hugh Jackman, writing: “But it is Wolverine in the middle, right @VancityReynolds?”

Before you get your tin foil hats on though, a Wrexham supporter has identified the unknown man and even shared an interesting fact about the former footballer.

Tagging the Free Guy actor, they wrote: “@VancityReynolds this chap is John Price, born 1854. Welsh international, who played in that iconic 1st home Welsh international match against Scotland in 1877.”

Whilst it’s wonderful to know this bit of trivia, we’d like to pretend the actor is a time traveller for just a little longer if it’s all the same.
