What Is Sam Worthington's Net Worth In 2022?

Ahead of the Avatar sequel dropping in December, Sam Worthington's net worth has been revealed.

Sam Worthington rose to global fame through his lead role in the highest grossing film of all time: Avatar.

Prior to his role as Jake Sully in the James Cameron-directed film, Worthington had featured in several Australian television shows and movies.

But it was the Avatar casting that helped catapult him onto the global stage at the age of 32.

Since then he has featured in many other films including 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge, alongside Andrew Garfield, as well as Everest and Clash of the Titans.

What is Sam Worthington’s Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth it is estimated that as of 2022 Sam Worthington has accrued a net worth of US$30 million (£2.44 million).

It’s an impressive sum for an actor who spoke to Times of India about his modest life prior to his role in Avatar

“I was living in my car before I signed up for Avatar”, he said.

Worthington added that the blockbuster film 'has changed my life and I’ll always be grateful to him [James Cameron] for giving me a larger-than-life role'.

The actor worked as a bricklayer in Sydney before gaining a scholarship to the National Institute of Dramatic Art at the age of 19. In an interview with TNT Magazine, he spoke of how he wanted to build houses early in life but 'fell into the industry' after finding success at drama school and in multiple roles in Australian film and television.

He married Australian model Lara Bingle in 2014 and the pair bought a property in Los Angeles for $8 million four years later.

Worthington is also confirmed to reprise his leading role as Jake Sully in the upcoming Avatar sequels.

Given the lucrative $2.7 billion box-office grossing for the first film, it’s expected his net worth will continue to rise in the coming years.

James Cameron has confirmed that four sequels to 2009’s Avatar are on their way, with Avatar: The Way of Water to be released in December.
