Sarah Michelle Gellar has banned her daughter from acting until she graduates high school

Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed that she won’t allow her daughter to act until she’s 18.

Well, don’t expect the Buffy star’s daughter to be a nepo baby anytime soon.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old said that she and her husband, Freddie Prince Jr., have a strict approach regarding their children following in their footsteps.

"We have rules in place," she told the outlet.

"She can't be in front of the camera until she graduates high school."

However, her daughter Charlotte has refuted this rule.

"She says to me, 'That's unfair. You were a child actor'. Yes, I was. But I was not the child of two famous parents," the star said.

Gellar started acting at a young age, appearing in TV commercials and bagging minor jobs before landing a lead role in All My Children, which earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.

Off the back of her win, she would star in the iconic 2000s TV show that made her a household name.

And while we haven’t seen the actor on the small screen for quite some time, Gellar will make her comeback in the Paramount+ series Wolf Pack, for which she also serves as the executive producer.

Wolf Pack follows two high school students caught in a wildfire and injured by a mysterious supernatural creator.

Following the events, the two teens become werewolves and develop an intense bond together.

As the two become closer, they discover two other teens who also had a strange encounter from a wildfire 16 years ago.

According to US Weekly, writer Jeff David instantly knew he wanted Gellar for the show, as Wolf Pack was pitched as Buffy’s descendant.

He said during a panel for Teen Wolf at San Diego Comic-Con, as per the outlet: “Everyone knows that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a huge influence on Teen Wolf.

“So I always thought it would be amazing if we could bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back to a horror show.”

Gellar, who then made a surprise appearance on the panel, added: “Everything these guys have been saying about family and the atmosphere of Jeff’s shows is really true.

"I hope you guys come join us!”

Wolf Pack premieres on Paramount+ January 26, 2023.
