Some eagle-eyed Stranger Things fans with arguably too much time on their hands think they've worked out what song Eddie Munson is playing in the final episodes of series four.

See him in action below:

Don't worry, you've not somehow missed the release of Volume 2; these particular fans are basing all of their assumptions on the couple of minutes of content we've been given in the trailer.

There are a number of scenes in the trailer that have since played out in full in the first few episodes of series four, but one moment we're yet to see is that of Eddie shredding the guitar while in the upside down.

Due to the music overlaid on the trailer we're not able to hear exactly what song he's playing, but dedicated fans took it upon themselves to try and figure it out based solely off his hand movements.

Admittedly I'm not a guitar player, so I'm not exactly sure how easy or common it is to try and associate the look of speedy hand positions with the song they create, but I think it's safe to say it would take both time and skill.

As Stranger Things viewers took to social media to share their guesses about the song, some suggested Eddie might be playing the epic track 'The Final Countdown', which was released the same year the latest series is set in 1986, while others guessed it might be Guns 'N Roses' 'Sweet Child 'O Mine'.

One guitarist, TikToker @charlie.harris06, quite literally decided to take matters into his own hands by analysing the hand movements and playing the guitar to try and figure out whether they would match the suggested songs.

You can see Charlie's deductions here:

Charlie claimed it was unlikely Eddie is playing 'The Final Countdown' because the 'solo doesn't quite match up', and offered fans a slow motion version of the track to prove his point.

Alongside the video, Charlie expressed belief the song actually being played on the guitar was Metallica's 1986 song 'Master Of Puppets'.

"Personally I’m going for master of puppets because figuring it out has enough proof I think," he wrote.

Other fans agreed with him, with one writing: "Master Of Puppets would literally make perfect sense (released 1986 - when S4 is set) - great deducing skills!"

Another person pointed out Eddie was likely 'too metal to be into The Final Countdown', to which Charlie responded: "That’s why Metallica would make sense , they’re like the popular founders of metal along with Ozzy, Europe is too glam."

There's just under a month to go until Volume 2 is released, so only time will tell whether those in favour of 'Master of Puppets' have guessed correctly!

Stranger Things Series Four: Volume 2 is set to be released on 1 July.
