The Boys Season 3: Release Date, Cast and Trailer

Everyone’s favourite despicable super hero show is back, with less than a month's wait before everyone can once again enjoy the blood, guts and gore which only adds to the show's excitement. However, the new trailer which has just dropped has given fans plenty to sink their teeth into before the approaching release date.

What will the new season of The Boys be about?

Show creator Eric Kripke told Entertainment Weekly “The Boys will explore the Seven before the Seven”. Perhaps what is most exciting about this news is that it entails the introduction of the brand new character ‘Soldier Boy’. Fans are delighted to know that this new addition will be the first time we see a captain america like figure in the boys. With Soldier Boy it is also expected that his supporting team will be introduced which originally included Stormfront, Eagle the Archer, Tek Knight, and Chrimson Countess.

But these are not the only striking differences we’re gonna be subject to, as Kripte has revealed that the new season will plunge us into the history of Vaught, as we’ve had hints that the corporation was just as twisted in the Second World War as it appears in modern times.

The wait is almost over as it has been confirmed since 7th January that the new season will air 3th June 2022 on Amazon Prime. It is believed that, like season 2 of The Boys, we will see a weekly gap between the episodes of the new season.

It has been verified that the highly anticipated character of Soldier Boy who’s also been labelled ‘the original superhero’, is being played by Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles. This will not be the only fresh face on your screens in June as The Walking Dead's Laurie Holden will take on the role of Crimson Countess and Roswell's Nick Wechsler will become Blue Hawk.

Of course our favourite characters will also be returning, as Karl Urban, Jack Quaid , Anthony Starr and Erin Moriarty will be restored to their original roles as Billy Butcher, Hughie Campbell, Homelander and Starlight.

The new trailer released on 16 May pays close attention to Homelander and what looks like his descent into madness, as he gives multiple public apologies for falling in love with a Nazi at the end of season 2. Another interesting snippet we see concerns Billy Butcher temporarily becoming a ‘supe’, which somewhat clouds the idea of the gang being ‘supe-hunters’. Not too much has been given away about Soldier Boy but we do get to see him violently smashing someone's head in with his shield, but we can't say what his reasoning is behind this gory act…
