New trends and lingo are constantly being thought up on TikTok by its millions of avid users and many find it hard to keep up with the changes of language right before their eyes.

What Does DTB Mean On TikTok?

DTB stands for "Don't Trust B*****s" or "Don't Trust Boys" and was made famous on the app thanks to a rapper named A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

With multiple interpretations, the acronym's usage has been gaining a lot of traction on the site.

The DTB hashtag has received 500 million views and the hashtag DTB4L, followed by a heart-breaking emoji, has 23.6 million views.

Others have been using it as a way of showing off red flags from previous relationships with partners that can’t be trusted.

In most uses of the acronym, the trend follows the feeling of being betrayed by another person.

As per reports from The Sun, the credit for coming up with the acronym goes to the rapper Julius Dubose, also known as, A Boogie Wit A Hoodie.

In his 2020 song called “DTB 4 Life,” DuBose raps about his trust issues regarding relationships and even himself.

A Boogie Wit A Hoodie is also responsible for many well known rap songs such as ‘Jungle’ and ‘Still Think About You’.

The phrase ‘DTB 4 Life’ is this generation’s way of saying they are swearing off dating for life, most likely due to past relationships that ended in hurt and mistrust.

Whether it means "Don't Trust Boys" or "Don't Trust B******s" is up to the user.
