Oasis fans claim tickets have been 'cancelled' in latest gig blow

A move to clamp down on ticket bots has reportedly left some fans heartbroken

Numerous Oasis fans have been left heartbroken after having their tickets 'cancelled' just days before concerts.

The Britpop legends' highly anticipated reunion gigs kicked off earlier this month, with shows in Cardiff and a host of homecoming gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park.

However, some fans claim they've not been able to see the Gallagher brothers live after having tickets cancelled by Ticketmaster over accusations they were a bot.

The scramble for Oasis tickets last August was nothing short of chaotic, with fans facing crashing websites, 'suspended' accounts and in-demand surge pricing as they tried to secure the goods.

Devastated fans then called for a 'complete revamp' of ticketing systems, while the band's management promised to void purchases which are believed to have broken terms and conditions.

However, this clampdown has reportedly left a number of fans heartbroken, as they discovered their tickets had been cancelled in the run up to the concert.

One TikToker, named Sophie (@sophiehhannah) shared a video of herself watching one of the band's Heaton Park gigs from a nearby hill on social media, claiming in the caption that she'd been forced to do so after her tickets were cancelled.

"Thanks Ticketmaster for cancelling our tickets," she wrote under the clip, which featured numerous other fans who'd missed out on tickets enjoying the gig from afar.

Sophie wasn't the only person who claims to have had her tickets cancelled either, with numerous people making the same complaint on X.

"Had my Oasis tickets cancelled for wed 16th Heaton park due to them saying bots bought my tickets which is not the case," wrote one user, while a second added: "Woke up this morning to our presale Oasis tickets cancelled for absolutely no reason @TicketmasterCS sort it out! £600 down the drain!!"

Meanwhile a fourth TikToker, named Bree (@breecerys), documented her issues with purchasing a resale ticket on the Ticketmaster app.

"I just got an email today saying 'your ticket has been dropped and you will receive a full refund," she explained in an emotional post shared on 10 July, adding that the gig she was supposed to attend was the following day.

"I'm absolutely devastated," she added. "I think this is so incredibly insane."

The women aren't the only fans to experience this situation either, with as many as 50,000 tickets purchased for the reunion tour being cancelled.

"To say that we’re bots is totally out of order for Ticketmaster because we tried all day to get the tickets," 24-year-old Leighah Conroy told PA, after discovering that tickets purchased for herself and a friend had been cancelled.

"Our heads have been pretty battered these past 24 hours. I felt sick in the stomach. It’s a band you’ll never experience or see again and it’s been on my bucket list for years. It just feels like my dreams have been completely crushed."

"Anyone who has been contacted and believes a refund was made in error has been sent a form to fill in for the tour’s promoters to review," Ticketmaster said in a response to the claims back in February.
