A content creator unboxed a $1,000 Dior advent calendar, one of the most expensive advent calendars on the market, so we don't have to – and he was left stunned by the final gift inside
Counting down to the big day with an advent calendar is arguably a Christmas staple for most of us.
Traditionally a reusable wooden or cardboard calendar displaying various nativity scenes, the traditional advent calendar has undergone numerous makeovers over the years.
Nowadays, most advent calendars contain some sort of treat behind each door, with the most popular choice being chocolate.

However, not every advent calendars was created equal, with the more upmarket versions offering everything from alcohol to beauty products hidden behind each door – all for a premium price of course.

One such example is Dior's Le 30 Montaigne advent calendar, which offers customers 'dazzling ornaments, refined fragrances and sophisticated skincare' for a mere $1,000 (£745).
Your typical Dairy Milk advent calendar, this is not.
Luckily for us, we don't have to speculate too much about what comes inside a calendar created by a fashion brand, as TikTok creator Blue Suarez (@bluesuarez) unboxed one on his account.
And spoiler alert, he was left shocked by what he found.
After spending the first 23 days expressing disappointment after unboxing miniature samples and several paper ornaments (yes, you read that correctly), Blue made it to day number 24 and had high hopes the final gift would make up for the previous disappointments.

Things start off well as Blue declares that the mystery item 'looks luxurious' as he opens the drawer and speculates whether or not it could be a 'full sized perfume' instead of the tiny Miss Dior and J'adore bottles hiding behind previous doors.
Unfortunately for Blue, his ambitious guess turned out to be wrong, as the calendar's final gift turned out to be a scented candle.
According to the calender's official listing, it's the Dior Piste aux Étoiles candle. The 250g version of this limited edition candle, which promises to fill your home with caramelised almond and cotton candy notes, sells for £104 online.
However, the candle inside the calendar is roughly a third of this size (85g) which gives it an estimated retail price of £30 to £35.
In regard to the other items, 30ml-sized bottles of J'adore and Miss Dior retail for around £78 each (per a Sephora listing) while a blusher retails for £35.
As for the paper ornaments, you can buy 24 of those for just £410 from the Dior website.
Needless to say, neither Blue or his followers were blown away by the calendar, with one person writing: "A CANDLE!!?!??!! Nahhhh a candle in a 1000$ advent calendar."
"Dior really put a candle and said your literally bUrNinG your money by buying this," commented a second person, while a third added: "you’re better off buying yourself full sizes, wrapping them up, and doing a diy 7 days til christmas."
Looks like I'll be sticking to a supermarket chocolate calendar next year.
