Ridiculous running challenges are all the rage these days and while it looks great - especially when it's for charity - there are often some horrifying consequences on the body which we don't always see.

We saw it recently when Jamie Laing ran five ultramarathons in five days for Comic Relief only to suffer an unexpected injury to his manhood.

Even running as little as 5k per day can have a potentially bad impact on your body, according to health experts, so you should probably think twice before signing up to that ultramarathon.

Most people who do challenge themselves to run for an extended period of time do so outside to see the sights, but given the challenges the Hardest Geezer faced on his tour of Africa, it's easy to see why Joe Pritchard wanted to do his charity run in the safety of his local pub.

However, Joe - who has raised well over £4,000 for the My Name’5 Doddie foundation - couldn't enjoy a well-earned pint after moving his body for 24 hours almost non-stop, as he quickly began to struggle with some terrifying ramifications following his run.

In his first video, which he shared on TikTok, he documents his running challenge at the New Inn pub in Shrawley, Worcestershire, putting up with obstacles such as a broken treadmill, mental blocks and a bloody nose during his 24 hours on the running machine.

He was able to complete an eye-watering 104 miles (167km) alongside some drunken punters who helped him out, so it's perhaps no surprise that his body was more than a little sore.

Warning: Contains bad language:

According to the Guinness World Records, Aleksandr Sorokin ran 309km in 24 hours which is the furthest completed by any human, so if Joe had doubled his pace he might have bested the Lithuania's record time.

Considering the brutal way his body reacted from the run, it's perhaps best he stuck to a more manageable pace on this occasion, as in a second video he let viewers know the struggles he faced in the wake of the charity marathon.

After sitting down for just 15 minutes before the planned visit to the beer garden which Joe had no doubt been dreaming about for the past 24 hours, his body seized up and he had to be carried by his friends to the garden, where he started feeling very sick.

He then collapsed, blacked out and briefly lost his vision - meaning it was very much time for him to go home.

After being helped into his house, he blacked out again on the way to the bathroom but it seems as if a hot bath was just what he needed to relax his tight leg muscles.

Joe admitted to feeling 'weird, light-headed and dizzy' too.

While he confessed that after four days his knee was still f**ked, he seems to be well on his way to a full recovery and will probably be back out running again soon - just probably not a treadmill inside a pub.

Hopefully he's been able to finally enjoy that post-run pint as well.
