A sequel series for How I Met Your Mother is in the works, with former Disney Channel actor Hilary Duff confirmed to star in the lead role.
The new show will be titled How I Met Your Father and will look at the story of Sophie, played by Duff, who tells her son the story of how she met his father.
Going back to the year 2021, it shows Sophie and her friends navigating the world of dating apps and relationships, Variety reports.
This Is Us co-producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will act as writers and executive producers on How I Met Your Father, with HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas also involved in executive producer roles.
Duff said: "I've been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I'm looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie.
"As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I'm honoured and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby.
"Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can't wait to work alongside them and all of their genius.
"Just fangirling over here getting to join the Hulu Originals and 20th families.
"I realise these are big shoes to fill and I'm excited to slip my 6 ½'s in there!"
It's still not clear how or if it will link to the original show, but we do know it will be shown on Hulu.
Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, said: "How I Met Your Mother continues to be one of the most innovative and beloved comedies on television.
"Isaac and Elizabeth have an inspired take on this new version that honours what Carter and Craig created with the original and moves the franchise forward.
"Isaac and Elizabeth have proven to be rich storytellers and great partners to us at Hulu Originals and across The Walt Disney Company family.
"Coupled with the passion and infectious energy Hilary brings to every role she takes on, we can't wait to suit up and bring audiences How I Met Your Father."
How I Met Your Mother first aired in 2005.
Starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Cristin Milioti, it was narrated by Bob Saget and - in a very lengthy fashion - told the story of how Ted Moseby (Radnor) met the mother of his children.
Nominated for 30 Emmy awards, and winning 10, it became one of the United States' most popular sitcoms across its nine-season run.
Harris and Hannigan each picked up People's Choice awards for their work on the show.
