For anyone hoping to find love during lockdown - and not in possession of a drone - a brand new show called Love in Isolation could be the solution.

The brand-new show, set to air on RTÉ Player, will be matching single love-seekers online via video chats all safely recorded from people's own homes, of course.

A statement from RTÉ reads: "Recorded in their homes via video chat, our daters have been frustrated by lockdown and can't wait to get socialising again, so they have jumped at the chance to dress up, have a drink and even light a candle or two.

"As each date is set a challenge, we'll discover some quirky talents and daters' secret passions that just might spark a match!"

Among the singletons taking part is Savannah Nolan, from Dublin, who told the broadcaster: "I felt quarantine was a great time to try new things and I thought, 'Why not go on an online dating show too?' Emmet [her match] was all the things I'd asked for, down to his green eyes!

"My friends would consider me to be loud and outrageous, but Emmet almost made me look boring. We were both such high energy and it almost became a competition of who was the most fun and outrageous."

Well, it seems like Savannah had a good time at least.

Irish viewers will be able to watch all episodes of Love in Isolation on the RTÉ Player on Tuesday 9 June.

Meanwhile, over in the US one influencer has decided to start live-streaming her blind dates with her 230,000 followers.

Urszula Makowska from Brooklyn, New York, handed over control of her account on dating app Hinge to her friends and agreed to go on blind dates with whoever they chose, while sharing the whole thing on Instagram Live.

And if the lucky chap manages to impress Urszula they could land themselves a second date.

Urszula said: "Most of us are quarantined and swiping on our dating apps. Being the only single one out of my squad, my girls and I decided to create a fun social dating experiment using my Hinge account.

Instagram

"I don't know my date's name, what he looks like or really anything about him until our first date in front of a live audience on my Instagram. There are twists during the live and ultimately the audience decides if there will be a second date.

"This is not only entertaining but a great way for me to meet someone that may end up being my partner, learn more about myself, help others learn more about themselves and also promote the importance of staying home at this time due to the circumstances."
