If you're the kind of person who remembers McDonald's Happy Meals coming with just a strange plastic toy with maybe one moving part from whatever kids film was out at the time, you should probably check out how far the technology has advanced.
Seriously, this latest McDonald's toy is more technologically capable than the computers that many of our primary schools would have had back in the day.
They're just giving this away with a burger?
Anyway, whilst it's obviously a very clever bit of kit, as it interacts with a smartphone and appears to have a mind of its own, you're probably wondering what on earth it actually is.
The toys, there are a few of them available with Happy Meals just now in the USA, are promotional vehicles for the forthcoming animated film Ron's Gone Wrong.
That film, sort of a science fiction comedy cartoon, tells the story of a boy called Barney and his new robot friend called Ron.
You see, in this world, all kids have a robot friend called a 'B-Bot' that is a talking and digitally connected character.
According to what little information we've got about the film so far, and working on the title alone, it seems as if Barney's cute robot pal isn't quite right.
Fear not, though. They'll surely learn some sort of valuable life lesson about how not everything is completely perfect.
Or something like that, anyway.
Whilst these toys already appear to be in McDonald's restaurants in the USA, we'll just have to wait and see whether they'll make the leap across the pond to UK-based McDonald's locations.
The film itself isn't out until October 22, so they might come over a little bit closer to then.
According to AllFastFoodToys, there will be six variations to collect.
You'll be able to get the Ron B-Bot, as well as the 'Danger Bunny B-Bot', the 'Cat B-Bot', the 'Music B-Bot', 'Dog B-Bot' and the 'Gamer B-Bot'.
Hopefully, you'll be able to collect all six bizarre characters, which come with various attachments to make them move and light up, as well as stickers in order to customise them.
Honestly, for anyone over the age of 16, it's probably not even worth trying to understand what these are about.
They look like fun, at least.
If you download the Happy Meal app, you can hear them talk, as well as interacting with them in various ways.
It's certainly come a long way from the 1990s, that's for sure.
