Amazon is set to develop a spinoff from The Boys following on from a successful second season launch.

According to Variety, the spinoff will be set at America's only college run exclusively for young adult superheroes - where can I enroll?!? - by Vought International.

The publication goes on to explain that it's been described as an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive superheroes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.

Keeping up ties with its parent series, the new show will be written and produced by Craig Rosenberg, who served as one of the executive producers on The Boys.

The show's creator, Eric Kripke, will also executive produce along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver of Point Grey Pictures.

One fan on social media seemed very excited, writing: "Anything with The Boys I'm in!

"Not the anti heroes we want.. but the ones we deserve."

While all this is going on, The Boys has been renewed for a third season.

The good news was confirmed before the second instalment dropped, with Eric Kripke releasing a statement saying: "Amazon, in a bold and historic push to expand their 'weirdo' demographic, has greenlit Season 3 of The Boys!

"The writers and I are hard at work in the (virtual) writer's room and we're sad to say, the world has given us way too much material.

"We hope to be shooting in early 2021, but that's up to a microscopic virus."

He added: "As if that wasn't enough, we're bringing you a Season 2 after show, Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys. Double entendre intended.

"Hosted by the incomparable Aisha Tyler and guest-starring the cast and crew, it's a deep dive into how we make this insane thing.

"Seriously, thanks to Sony, Amazon and the fans.

"We love making this show so much, and we're thrilled we get to make more."

Good news all round, then.
