The Last Leg viewers have dubbed Jackie Weaver a 'legend' after she made an appearance on the show yesterday:

The overnight online sensation appeared on the Channel 4 show last night (5 February) after she was part of a viral online Zoom call with members of Handforth Parish Council and it turned into absolute turmoil.

As part of the show, Jackie spoke with presenters Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker about what happened and told them that she 'didn't really know' what Twitter is or what the word 'trending' means.

Alex asked where she 'cut her cloth', asking whether she's got a 'zero tolerance' policy during family Zoom sessions - in reference to Jackie kicking out chairman Brian Tolver after he told her she had 'no authority'.

Jackie replied: "It's actually kind of a bit like a cross between trying to help families resolve their issues and hostage negotiations."

When guest Sandi Toksvig asked whether she would possibly be joining the government, Jackie said: "In front of them or behind."

One viewer took to Twitter, writing: "I clapped for Jackie Weaver #thelastleg. As the fabulous @sanditoksvig said, 'local government is where it's at.'

"Respect for all those in local government and local politics who stand up for basic human decency! My kids were horrified by #HandforthParishCouncil."

Another added: "Saw the legendary Jackie Weaver on The Last Leg last night, she has a good sense of humour and see she'll be on breakfast soon... expect Strictly or the jungle next!!"

If anyone is in need of a refresher (or just hasn't seen what's gone on), this all stems from a disagreement between Weaver and the council Chairman about who was in control of the meeting, causing several members to be booted out of the call for misbehaviour.

The footage was filmed on 10 December between members of the Planning and Environment Committee. Chairman Brian Tolver had apparently refused to recognise the legitimacy of the meeting, having labelled himself as 'clerk'.

At one point, Tolver hit back angrily: "You have no authority here, Jackie Weaver!"

He was then removed from the meeting and placed in a virtual waiting room - the Zoom equivalent of the naughty step, surely.

Weaver said later in the meeting: "The chairman simply declared himself 'clerk' and notified everybody of the case. There is no way of stopping him from calling himself clerk.

"Please refer to me as Britney Spears from now on."
