I'm A Celeb winner Angry Ginge did 'the one thing' his family told him not to do in camp

Ginge's sister admitted it did make it 'even funnier'

While he might have been a bit of a surprise nation’s sweetheart, it turns out Angry Ginge didn’t quite listen to his family’s rules for his time in the I'm A Celeb camp.

A favourite of this year’s series, the Manc Twitch streamer was crowned King of the Jungle during last night’s (7 December) final of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. The internet celeb, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was joined by Tom Read Wilson in second place and Shona McGarty in third as their weeks in the jungle came to an end.

In quite the emotional moment, Ginge admitted he couldn’t even think of the words to say when he won, as he described his time in camp as a ‘dream come true’.

"I don’t think I can swear, but I feel amazing," Ginge added. "Honestly, a dream come true. I didn’t think I could go all this way never mind win. Thank you to everyone who voted."

People on social media seemed pretty happy with the winner of the TV show, who has been the ideal contestant in the eyes of a lot of folks. Throughout his time in the jungle, he's faced his fears, opened up to the cameras about missing home and feeling overwhelmed, and shared a ton of personal anecdotes, too.

'Sweet-gate' explained

We’d already seen how much it meant to him to reunite with his family in the final days of the show, and now, they’ve spilt the tea on exactly what they asked him not to do.

In an iconic moment of this series, Ginge was a part of ‘sweet-gate’ with campmates Aitch and Kelly Brook.

During a Dingo Dollar, the trio had secured an impressive 20 milk-bottle sweets for camp. But, in a moment to mirror Amir Khan and Iain Lee with the strawberries back in 2017, they decided to scoff half of the treats for themselves. At the time, the streamer tried to say that it ‘only fair’ they got to eat the extra sweets, because they were the ones who put in the graft to win the challenge.

But then, he was more than happy to put Kelly in the spotlight as he told his campmates: “But Kelly is the blame for it, I will say that. You’ll see when you get out!”

'It was the one thing we told him not to do!'

Ginge’s sister, Tasha, has since revealed the family literally warned him against these kind of antics.

“It was literally the one thing we told him not to do though!” she explained, as she added that it’s just his cheekier side coming out.

“But I guess that's what makes it even funnier.”

Tasha also said going on I’m A Celeb was on her brother’s ‘bucket list’ as she was proud to see him ‘smashing it’.

She said it would ‘mean the world to him’ if he won and that was pretty clear last night.

"I don’t think I can swear, but I feel amazing," Ginge said, while last year's winner, Danny Jones, handed over the crown and sceptre to him.

"Honestly, a dream come true. I didn’t think I could go all this way never mind win. Thank you to everyone who voted."
