Every time you think you’ve ran out of things to watch on Netflix, they add another new series.
I mean, that goes for people who actually wait for and watch the new stuff anyway, not the rest of us who just re-watch and binge the same TV shows over and over…
But for those who are about to have another go at the likes of Peaky Blinders or Breaking Bad, there’s a crime series that’s just been added to the platform that could be worth a watch instead.
Having premiered back in 2016, Animal Kingdom ran for six seasons until 2022 and for many people, it’s one of the ‘most addictive’. And as of today (4 February), all of the episodes are available to stream on Netflix.

Be warned though, it’s pretty dark. The crime drama was based on the 2010 Aussie film of the same name, inspired by the crimes allegedly committed by the Pettingill family.
It stars Peaky Blinders actor Finn Cole as teenager Josh, who moves in with his estranged relatives who run a criminal family enterprise in California.
The family gets involved in various crimes and pull off a number of heists.
One of the alleged crimes of the real Pettingills included the infamous murder of two police officers in 1988, allegedly committed by brothers Trevor Pettingill and Victor Peirce.
In the series, the family’s dodgy dealings are overseen by Josh’ crime-lord gran, Janine ‘Smurf’ Cody (played by Ellen Barkin).
Rotten Tomatoes ranks Animal Kingdom pretty well too (as it does the original film), with an impressive score of 88 percent from viewers.
Users on our Facebook group ‘Netflix Bangers’ also said they were ‘locked all the way down’ by the series as they were ‘glued to the couch’ watching it.

And for those who just love a binge re-watch, Animal Kingdom could enter the cycle as others said: “I feel like repeating it over and over again.”
However, another did say: “It just seems so heavy and dark.”
Others do say it’s ‘one of the best’ though and ‘outstanding’ as one added: “I don’t want it to end.”
“Animal Kingdom is off the hook,” a second said as another warned: “The end of season 4 traumatised me and yet I couldn’t turn away and yes I also cried in season six.”
And a review on IMDb praised: “It does this so gradually that you don't even realise it until realise you're watching some of the most beautifully-drawn characters on TV for a long time.
“It's a Breaking Bad-level achievement, possibly exceeding it at times. One that flew under the radar.”
Animal Kingdom is now streaming on Netflix.
