A guest on Antiques Roadshow was left shocked by the massive valuation of their French doll deemed ‘creepy’ by viewers.
The guest appeared on the BBC show to see whether she would be able to get more than she expected from some of the antiques laying around her house and got exactly what she hoped for.
Appearing on the BBC TV series in which experts evaluate your belongings to see what they’re worth, a number of people get shocks when they find out.
Just recently one attendee on the show was told a classic Rolex watch was worth £14,000, leading viewers to across the board agree he’d been ‘mugged off’.

In addition to this however, one person who went on the show found out that a collection of drawings and designs he found in a skip were actually worth £250,000.
This week the Antiques Roadshow YouTube channel posted a clip from 1998 in which someone brought in a ‘highly collectable’ French doll.

She stated that she had put out an ad looking for them and that a woman had called her to say that she had one she had found in a bin.
Called a ‘Bébé’ doll, she then paid her £26 for it and had been holding onto it for 30 years.

Made by Emile-Louis Jumeau in the 1860s the expert revealed that the doll was one of the first made.
The woman brought two dolls, the smaller of which she says would be worth about £800.
Regarding the Bébé doll however she says: “These are highly collectable, she is worth a whole lot more than her… this one is a rarity I think you’ll find she’s worth as much as £5,000.”
The woman revealed that she had spoken to someone who had valued it at just £800 so she was happily shocked at the four figure valuation.

In the comments however one viewer deemed the doll ‘creepy’, however the woman probably hardly cares considering the major potential payout.
This is not the only time someone has taken one of the dolls onto the show and not the first time that they have been deemed ‘creepy’.
A woman took a Bébé doll onto the show leading to it being routinely agreed to have given everyone watching the creeps.
One tweeted a picture of it saying: “Hug me and I will suck out your soul.”
Another said: “Creepiest doll this season!”

A third tweeted: “’The most beautiful doll she’s ever seen on the roadshow’ … if you’re idea of ‘beautiful’ is ‘horrific’ and possibly possessed.’
Once again the doll was valued at a whopping £6,000 so the owners of the creepy dolls are clearly the winners here.
