Bloke's response to grand unveiling is being called best reaction to house makeover ever

This bloke said it all before he even opened his mouth

Sometimes you can say everything when you say nothing at all. And I’m not trying to get all Ronan Keating when I say that, but this bloke gave an iconic reaction to a house makeover before he even opened his mouth.

And, when he did start talking, it just got better, making his response to the grand unveiling hailed as the best reaction ever.

Normally on those US home makeover style TV shows, the families and couples are sobbing with joy and shrieking happily as their styled-up places are revealed.

But, not exactly a shock here, us Brits are often a little more reserved – and perhaps more savage.

Resurfaced and meme-ified, watch this bloke’s reaction:

On Your Home in Their Hands, properties are handed over to amateur designers so you could arguably say a positive outcome isn’t exactly a guarantee.

That said, John Geoghegan's reaction was more hostile than anyone could have expected.

In the clip - which first aired back in 2015 but often goes viral - John and his wife Rachel are shown their bedroom's makeover, at which point things fall sharply off a cliff.

Opening their eyes, the couple are visibly shocked. If you look closely enough, you can almost see the exact moment John's soul is ripped out of his a**e and that flicker of optimism he had had just moments earlier dies a dark death.

So, what did he think of his newly-coated chambre?

"Nah, it's too much. For me, it's too busy," he says bluntly.

"I wouldn't have done anything like it and I don't like it. You're supposed to be able to sleep in a bedroom and it's like a kid's play area.

"I think it looks horrendous, it doesn't look anything like a bedroom. Sorry but it's a big thumbs down from me.

"It's hideous, I think it's even too much for Rachel if she was to tell the truth."

Rachel is less forthcoming with her feedback though, saying: "I do like the bed and the wardrobes. I like the theme of it. I like the lights," which she must have repeated about three times.

But John is having none of it. "It's rank," he says shaking his head. "I don't like it at all, definitely not."

Then - having been prodded by present Celia Sawyer - Rachel adds: "I think it will grow on us. I do like the bed and the wardrobes. I did ask for colour."

Not exactly very convincing, Rachel.

John makes it clear it won't have time to grow on them though, 'cause he's gonna change it sharpish.

Asked what message he would give the designer, he says: "Don't touch the other room."

And then, to round off the beautiful segment, Rachel suggests to John that the makeover might grow on him, to which he responds: "Fungus grows. That's horrible."

Users previously wrote on social media: "Arms folded, proper disapproving dad stance."

Another said: "The presenter looks so defeated as if she didn't just show them an absolute atrocity."

A third added: "Rachel definitely doesn't like it."
