Big Brother’s top 10 most outrageous moments ahead of tonight’s reboot

Big Brother’s top 10 most outrageous moments ahead of tonight’s reboot

With the iconic show returning to our screens, let's take a look back on the most memorable moments

It's finally here.

Big Brother is back after five long years.

With the ITV reboot premiering tonight, viewers can expect a lot of rows, tasks and diary room meltdowns.

But before we sink our teeth into another series of chaos, it would perhaps be prudent to look back on some of the show's most memorable moments.

And of course, when I say memorable, I mean absolutely insane.

Big Brother ran for nearly 20 years across Channel 4 and Channel 5, and brought in both regular contestants and celebrities.

With all of those big personalities under one roof, there's a lot to choose from.

Without any further ado, here is our ranking of Big Brother's most outrageous moments.

10) Courtney Act's revealing entrance

We all know that first impressions are important. Drag queen Courtney Act certainly made a big one with viewers when she appeared in 2018.

Before she'd even stepped foot through the doors of the Big Brother House, she'd managed to step on her own dress and tear it off her body.

A wardrobe malfunction in front of millions of viewers? Humiliating for her, hilarious for us.

9) Perez Hilton's dramatic return

Back in 2015, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton drove his housemates crazy with his antics and frequently locked horns with outspoken Katie Hopkins.

So when he 'left', the housemates were delighted to get some peace and quiet.

But what they didn't realise was that Hilton was hiding away in a secret room, watching the rest of his housemates slate him.

Needless to say, when he made his return to the main house, many of his co-stars weren't happy to see him back.

Hopkins isn't known for being a jovial person, but to say she had a face like thunder would be an understatement.

8) Alison Hammond breaks the table

We all love a bit of Alison Hammond, don't we?

She's always been a barrel of laughs and she demonstrated this early on, when she was featured in the 2002 series of Big Brother.

Hammond was stood on top of a table in the garden attempting to peek over the fence, when it suddenly broke beneath her.

The stunt gone wrong had her housemates in stitches and earned her a reprimanding from Big Brother.

Despite damaging the furniture, Hammond is one of Big Brother's greatest success stories, as she's still a regular fixture on TV twenty years later.

7) 'You're an adulterer!'

Big Brother has seen its fair share of rows, but Kim Woodburn may be the champ of arguments.

During her stint on the show in 2017, the Queen of Clean managed to pick a fight with just about everybody.

But the spat that stands out from the rest has to be her cross words with Jamie O'Hara, who she branded a 'chicken livered s**t' and 'an adulterer'.

Things got heated that Woodburn had to be removed from the house by security.

6) Chantelle Houghton's undercover mission

When Chantelle Houghton entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2006, she was a total unknown.

But that was all part of the plan.

Big Brother set her the task of pretending to be a celebrity popstar in order to hoodwink her famous housemates.

If she failed in her task, she would be evicted.

Fortunately for Houghton, she managed to successfully con the likes of George Galloway, Pete Burns and Michael Barrymore.

The most cringe-worthy moment of the saga has to be Houghton's performance of her

supposed hit single - which she sang with the lyrics sheet in hand.

5) Jade Goody's racism controversy

Jade Goody may be the most famous Big Brother contestant of all time.

She first shot to fame after appearing in 2002.

But it would be her appearance as a celebrity in 2007 that would generate the most headlines - and ferocious backlash.

Goody ended up embroiled in race row after she and two other housemates - Jo O'Meara and Danielle Lloyd - were accused of bullying Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

Viewers were left outraged when Goody was shown referring to Shetty as 'Shilpa Poppadom' and remarking that she 'needed a day in the slums'.

With over 40,000 complaints being made and a mountain of press interest, Goody was extremely remorseful upon her exit from the show.

4) Roxanne Pallett's Punch-gate

Another massive controversy came in 2018 when Roxanne Pallett of Hollyoaks' fame accused Ryan Thomas of punching her.

When it became apparent that Pallett had lied about the incident, she quit the show.

Over 11,000 viewers filed complaints about viewing the dramatic scenes play out on TV, and Thomas would go on to win that series.

3) The whole 'David is dead' drama

Where would be a Big Brother listicle be without Tiffany Pollard?

Cast your minds back to 2016.

David Bowie had died whilst his ex-wife Angie was in the Big Brother house.

The producers let her know about his passing and she decided to confide in Pollard with one cryptic sentence: "David is dead."

There's just one problem with this - David Gest was also on the show that year.

Pollard mistakenly thought her fellow housemate had died and freaked out, running to tell the others about the sudden demise of Gest.

Cue a massive misunderstanding that unfolded in front of the viewing public.

A confusion about which David had died led to a lot of drama.

2) Gemma Collins telling Gillian McKeith to 'f**k off'

Speaking of the 2016 series, let's pay tribute to the GC herself.

Gemma Collin's time on the show was dominated by tantrums, crying fits and more drama than a GCSE theatre production.

When she wasn't seeing ghosts or demanding heated rollers, the former TOWIE star was speaking her mind.

And one person who bore the full brunt of that was Gillian McKeith.

McKeith had been brought in for a task in which she would ring up the housemates on the phone.

Collins wasn't having any of it and instantly went viral when she screamed: "F**k off, Gillian McKeith!"

Don't sit on the fence Gemma, say how you really feel.

1) Nikki Grahame's 'Who is she?' rant

When it comes to tantrums and diary room meltdowns, all contestants stand in awe of Nikki Grahame.

The 2006 contestant was infamous for her hysterical outbursts in the diary room, as she fumed about the height of her housemate's cornflakes.

It doesn't make much sense in context, either.

But the rant that earned Grahame the top spot is her infamous 'Who is she?!' diatribe against Susie for nominating her to be evicted.

Nikki Grahame didn't hold back in her outbursts.
